Beautifully appointed hotel with outdoor seating. Menu is a bit pricey compared to some but the service was excellent. Walkability: Set on the Teesdale Way, a great stopping point for cyclists and walkers. Dog friendly. Service: 4 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Great view
Fresh tasty hot food, friendly service and a nice atmosphere. The eating area was fairly full, which pretty much tells you it's a good place to be! Some great offers on staying the night and giving you free meal the following day, we'll definitely give that a go!
Tuesday steak night, four of us,delicious food and wine, lovely staff, thanks to all Service: 5 Location: 5
I didn't stay, so I cant comment about the rooms. Stopped for a Guinness after viewing the Meader sculpture over the road by Pat Walls. Loved the outside seating area. It's huge, with a great view up and down the Front. Hardly any traffic passing is so lovely and peaceful. Nice pint of Guinness and service was fantastic from the young man behind the bar as we swapped a bit of banter about rubber ducks and sweet shops. (don't ask) Hahaha Service: 5

If you’re staying overnight, ask for a riverside table when you book — returning guests suggest those who are residents often get priority for the best view. Also, the kitchen is flexible: staff will happily tailor portion sizes and sometimes offer off-menu small plates or wine pairings when asked, making it a friendly spot for bespoke meals.
