This Indian restaurant is one of the best around. We haven’t been able to go until now, due to lockdown. The food was fantastic and staff friendly.....you have been missed! View all feedback.
What Noah Chapman doesn't like about Akbar's Dynasty:
Food is crazily overpriced, we paid £50 for two curries and a few of side dishes. The food was ordered as a birthday treat, it was over an hour wait for collection, waited in the reception for over 30 mins for the gentleman behind the...desk to continue to tell me 5 minutes every time I questioned where the food was. I drove 15 mins to pick this up, I wish I had just ordered somewhere local now. The food quality was... View all feedback.
Fantastic service and food every time. Favourite place to eat. Celebrated several birthdays here as well over the years and can not fault them
Have driven past the Akbar Dynasty so many times on the way to Teesside never really given it a thought because it is so isolated. So we thought we'd give it a try based on the reviews here. What a pleasant surprise. We received a warm welcome, we hadn't booked a table, but were shown straight to a table. It was quite busy considering it was only 7:15pm. As Curryholics, we thought we'd try something a little different, so we had Poppadoms, then the Mixed Platter to start, followed by the Agni Karai, Lamb Matka and a Cheese Garlic Nan. The food was superb. Both are medium dishes with lots of flavour just the right amount of kick!! The bill came to £37, including drinks, so overall it was good value. The service was welcoming, friendly helpful. Will definitely be back.
This is my favourite Indian in the Darlington area. Its located on the A66 dual carriageway between Darlington Stockton and is very isolated, apart from the petrol station it sits next to there is nothing else around for a couple of miles so the downfall for me is I have to drive as its out of town and a little too far for a taxi. Obviously driving means no drinking so therefore even thou this is my favourite I don't manage to get there as often as I would like. The guys who run this place are not local and commute a couple of hundred miles each day and because of this they seem to put maximum effort into making your visit well worth while. Food is good (better than average) Service is 100% Decor is OK but but nothing fantastic Overall very enjoyable and worth while
The best thing about this restaurant apart from the food and the service is the fact you'll never have to wait to be seated because of its location, its rarely busy. I ordered a Vindaloo and my partner ordered a Afghani-style curry, both were absolutley delicious. Portion size is just right and the naan breadswow! Best we've ever had, really light and flavoursome. The staff were very friendly and the bill wasnt too harsh for what we had. Definitley going back there again.
I have passed by this restaurant hundreds of times as it is situated on the A66 between Middlesbrough and Darlington which is a busy commuter road. I was recommended by a friend to try it one evening. I booked a table for four for ourselves and an Indian friend and his wife who joined us. Our first visit was on a Thursday evening and the place was very busy, a good sign I thought, it was well decorated and nicely furnished with comfortable chairs and white table cloths, the menu was extensive with English as well as Indian meals. The service was superb with just enough attention as the meal progressed the food was superb and our Indian friends were equally impressed, so impressed that he insisted on paying for the meal as I had recommended eating there. We were even asked at the door if we were satisfied upon leaving a nice touch I have since been back with other friends and the food and service are always the same, first class and the prices are reasonable. I recommend it to everybody and occasionally I am told we go there its loverly Its 5 stars from me!
