What Bradford DuBuque doesn't like about Kirketon Hotel:
Upon entering the lobby we immediately noticed a showcase cabinet with broken glass on the back. 2. Surprise was that there was no elevator, so we had to raise the luggage on two stairs. The ceramic of the toilet bowl was badly cracked and very unhygienicly repaired. Picture attached. Once the towel was badly colored. Picture attached. Housekeeping was not available as they literally replaced our towels. You made the... View all feedback.
Where do I start? The service was terrible and lacked knowledge. Room was grossly misleading online compared to in person. Its tired looking, needs URGENT renovations and a decent clean! There were missing tiles in the bathroom, dusty tops + toilet paper holder and moldy carpet. Ended up cancelling my booking once getting to my room and organised new accommodation. Don't waste your money here!!!
Location is great. King's Cross is just a few minutes' walk away. If you like to run, you can walk to Hyde Park and Westfield Tower in 20 minutes. Even the Harbor Bridge and the Opera are within walking distance. Although you should be a little fitter for that. You can reach everything by taxi in 10 minutes for a few dollars. A taxi to the airport is about 60-70A $. The welcome was very warm and everything went quickly. Room was super small, very comfortable bed, "walk-in closet with safe and minibar, iron and ironing board. Small desk and bathroom with tub and toilet. Sink without plug, you have to run the water to shave. Air conditioning, but it's not good Works. TV hangs on the wall, almost under the ceiling at an angle so that you can see from the bed, but in reality the position was due to the size of the room. Room was clean in the bathroom were a few details that did not work or with Armor tape were stuck on. High quality shower gels and soap in the bathroom. The area is not very quiet, you should definitely know that the hotel cannot do anything for that. So if you are looking for something quiet in Sydney, then this is not the place.
Great location - the Kings Cross Coke sign is at the end of the street Very noisy, not that clean and the staff were very inexperienced
As a well travelled person it's the first time I've ever been downgraded! Upon checkin I was informed that me booked room choice was unavailable due to there "stuff up" and my booked room class was unavailable. Not impressed and ended up with a totally unacceptable room!!! Had many a nice stay at this hotel several times before and never a problem. Shall I return that's the big question!!!!
We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights. It is very clean quiet and centrally located to the Kings Cross Point Piper Oxford Street and all the Bars and restaurants in the neighbouring areas.Easy access to Bus and Train. This is a boutique style hotel so the rooms were small but well appointed and a decent sized bath room. There is no lift but it is only over 3 floors. The lower floor could be noisy as the bar is very popular with the young and very loud but the staff were good and advised us that the top floor would be best location for our stay. The staff were very friendly. The down side was the bedding as it was soft and had a sag in the middle.
