Used Hinky Dinks as a bar to meet before dinner up the road (Fu Manchu) and certainly hit the mark. Service was good and great range of gins, vodkas and whiskeys. Didn't eat so cannot comment on food but would love to try their Reuben Sandwich. Cocktails drinks aren't cheap though. View all feedback.
What Chad Torphy doesn't like about Hinky Dinks:
I have always quite enjoyed Hinky Dinks, even though it's definitely on the pricey side and most cocktails will cost you about $20 each. It's a cute little space and the food is good. However, the last time I went I discovered they'd implemented a mandatory gratuity. Forced tipping is NOT a thing in Australia - it is something I will do at my own discretion when the staff have actually warranted it through exceptiona... View all feedback.
Fantastic little bar with some of the best cocktails Sydney has to offer. Living in the area my girlfriend and I finally decided to check this place out and we were much more than satisfied. Hinky dinks has a wonderful atmosphere with a fantastic cocktail menu and the staff we encountered were extremely warm the bar tender even kindly offered to hang my coat up for me. Would be great for a first date!
Very cool little bar. The retro wooden tables, bench seating, and bar stools are flash, if a bit forced. The cocktails are thoughtful and delish (I went on Bastille Day and they had French-themed food and drink on for cheaper prices than their regular menu! . Staff are very attentive, friendly, and professional, not too laid-back. They do increase the hipster ratio, though. Not a big place, so get in early. Now open on Sunday arvos from 1pm. Drink specials every day, and a good munching menu. A trendy, but quality, bar.
Quiet Sunday night. For great reviews it seemed to be mostly locals. Matt the bartender was extremely helpful. The cocktails and food were good. There were two of us and a 10% service charge was automatically included. I'm not sure if this is standard or related to us ordering food.
Great vibe and cocktails! This places has only been up and running for seven months but it has hit the ground running! 1950's feel, the fit out and music are suberb the owners have done a fantastic job! But nothing beats the cocktails with the Faulty Sour and Blood Sand my favourites!
Hinky Dinks brings back Mad Men-esque 60's cool, with relaxed surroundings and a cocktail menu strong enough for a 1960's advertising executive. I've been here on a number of occasions. It's a great location for a first date or catching up with friends. The biggest surprise for me was the quality of their food. I went to a degustation $55 with matching wines which was a steal! and all five courses were phenomenal. They have taken a high end approach to bar snacks, and I certainly didn't leave hungry. I can't recommend Hinky Dinks highly enough. Their staff are friendly and very knowledgeable, and the atmosphere is chilled and welcoming.
