Was Glennie Romaguera at Hinky Dinks a mag?
Used Hinky Dinks as a bar to meet before dinner up the road (Fu Manchu) and certainly hit the mark. Service was good and great range of gins, vodkas and whiskeys. Didn't eat so cannot comment on food but would love to try their Reuben Sandwich. Cocktails drinks aren't cheap though. View all feedback.
What Chad Torphy dislikes about Hinky Dinks:
I have always quite enjoyed Hinky Dinks, even though it's definitely on the pricey side and most cocktails will cost you about $20 each. It's a cute little space and the food is good. However, the last time I went I discovered they'd implemented a mandatory gratuity. Forced tipping is NOT a thing in Australia - it is something I will do at my own discretion when the staff have actually warranted it through exceptiona... View all feedback.
Whether you're a regular or a Scoopon scavenger (hey, it got me through the door!) you'll be treated to friendly, brisk service and cocktails that hit the spot. The hot wings are tasty and bearing in mind this is a cocktail bar, the food is generally good. Food is obviously not the focus here, so don't expect super fast food - it's a little slow but not unexpectedly so.A place that looks this old has no right to be this well-kept and, frankly, dapper. Being this small it didn't get too loud and the overall feel was cosy and comfortable. It was a great starting point to our night, and I feel it'd make a great endpoint too.
This bar is quite small but you can get many kinds of cocktail and beer. It's very interesting if you want to try their cocktail. Taste nice!
Fantastic little bar with some of the best cocktails Sydney has to offer. Living in the area my girlfriend and I finally decided to check this place out and we were much more than satisfied. Hinky dinks has a wonderful atmosphere with a fantastic cocktail menu and the staff we encountered were extremely warm the bar tender even kindly offered to hang my coat up for me. Would be great for a first date!
Very cool little bar. The retro wooden tables, bench seating, and bar stools are flash, if a bit forced. The cocktails are thoughtful and delish (I went on Bastille Day and they had French-themed food and drink on for cheaper prices than their regular menu! . Staff are very attentive, friendly, and professional, not too laid-back. They do increase the hipster ratio, though. Not a big place, so get in early. Now open on Sunday arvos from 1pm. Drink specials every day, and a good munching menu. A trendy, but quality, bar.
