West Lake Chinese Seafood Restaurant

Chinese food was the feeling so we tried West Lake from another family members recommendation. While waiting for the takeaway there was a couple of mixups with other people's takeaways which unfortunately also was ours. The front counter staff was perfect in handling these under some pressure of hungry eyes gazing. Very friendly and helpful with a little extra food gift for the ever so slight inconvenience was very thoughtful. Food was hot, good flavour and nice mix of vegetables to meat. Will definitely try West Lake again however will allow additional time for pickup in case we're entertaining.

We were very tired our first night so chose a delivery service from the hotel compendium rather than go out. For home delivered take-away it exceeded our expectations and didn't leave us thirsty all night like Chinese food sometimes can.

The West Lake is a bit of a family favourite and all for one reason - the food is fantastic! And it has been with each visit. This restaurant does indeed have some areas for improvement though. 1. the venue could use a makeover - looking very tired. 2. The staff whilst pleasant, are not particularly warm and friendly and not particularly well trained. 3. The wine list - oh dear! On our last visit more than half the white wines had been scribbled off the list, and the selection remaining was not particularly inspiring. The house wines are from the very cheap 4 litre cask selection and not worth paying for at a restaurant. Sadly, I decided to have a teetotaler night out and went with the diet Coke. Advice on a good selection of wines that go with the menu on offer is urgently needed. Many more white wines, a couple of roses and bubbles, and limited reds would be a good start. And house wines - some acceptable budget bottled wine or the better 2 litre cask wines would be recommended too. But we will be back regardless - it's all about the food!

We love Chinese food ( I am Chinese) , this restaurant always serve great dishes. Good food ( big portions), always fresh, good service, nice place. Good for lunch or dinner with family, specially big family, they have big tables.This restaurant always turn on Chinese traditional music (which we love), good environment for family gathering. This place definitely the best Chinese food in Toowoomba.

The food was very delicious. We had takeaway honey chicken, beef and black bean and special fried rice. Great service on arrival and over the phone.
