Papa Joe's Italiano - Darien

This is a very authentic Italian restaurant in town. They have a great selection of wines and traditional Italian dishes like salads, baked eggplant, and pasta with chicken or beef. There is a bar area and a sit-down dining area for larger parties.

Almost 5 star, almost! I don't give away 5 star very often so dont take that as a negative. Fantastic restaurant. Prices were moderate. Food was very good. Service was impeccable. Fresh bread and a small relish tray were brought to the table. I love olives so was very happy to see the tray. Given I don't live on a coast, I often look for seafood when i travel. They had Angry-Lobster on the menu. It did not dissapoint. Very sweet lobster, healthy portions, well prepared. Laid back atmosphere and easy to have a conversation. Will eat here again when in the area. Great choice for dinner!

Good quality pizza. Sauce ok. Crust was fire created and had extra black on it from flame. Staff were friendly! Casual atmosphere! Small pizza is shareable!

I checked out Papa Joe’s after a friend's recommendation and was thoroughly impressed. The food and service were outstanding. Our server, Michelle, was fantastic and made sure to check on us regularly. The food was absolutely delicious—there's nothing like homemade pasta that's light and tasty, leaving you satisfied without the bloated feeling afterward. I highly recommend this place!

This is my top pick! I highly recommend it! If you have dietary restrictions, feel free to discuss them with your server, and they will do their best to accommodate you. Just a note: if you're extremely sensitive to gluten, it's best to avoid the Italian dishes.
