Tom Yum soup is to die for i love spice but anything beyond medium spice level is too intense for me. The spring rolls are great, I wish they gave you more sweet chili sauce on the side for take out orders. The man attending the takeout counter and answering the phones is so sweet and courteous. What Darrell B doesn't like about Sunrise 2 Authentic Thai Food (fishtown Location):
I read the reviews and thought thai food, great. I was very disappointed. My appetizer was good but nothing to rave about, the real disappointment came from the Tom Kha soup. Tom Kha soup has always been made in my experience with lemongrass, galangal, and chilies (among other things) adding flavor and a sour spicy taste to the coconut cream. This Tom Kha had no flavor except sweet coconut milk. I did not see any lem... View all feedback.
Wildly inconsistent food quality. I've sadly never had good Thai in Philly. This place doesn't cut it either.
The food here is just OK, I’ve had much better. One I main issues is that they refuse to update the menu online. Everything is cheaper online but when you show up they charge you 2-3 dollars more. Eg Chicken pad see ew is $12.99 online. When you show up it’s $17.99 after tax because it’s $15.99 when you show up. Not to mention that’s extremely expensive for what you get and the quality of food. A basic chicken and noodles dish for $18 no thanks.
Food was fantastic and fresh, really nice people also!
I've ordered from here 2x through Uber Eats. It takes longer than any restaurant on the app, to prepare the food. I've ordered Pad See Ew in Bangkok, New York, and other Philly restaurants. It's the worst I've had. Little flavor, and not authentic. Additionally, the first time I ordered Thai Tea here, it was literally iced coffee. This time they had a closer version to the authentic type. If the food was flavorful and authentic, it would make up for the long wait time.
Ordered chicken Pad See Ew to go tonight and it was absolutely terrible! It tasted like a mixture of old grease and shrimp. So beware if you have a seafood allergy, as my chicken entree was obviously contaminated with shrimp. The crab Rangoon was very good, and the house salad was nice, but the Pad See Ew was ewwww!!
