What User doesn't like about Funky's Arcade:
Honestly, I should have realized what to expect, but the six to eight arcade machines squeezed into a back corner didn't exactly impress me with their gaming options. The food appeared decent, and the bar seemed capable of serving a wide range of drinks, along with a good selection of craft and local canned beers. However, if you're planning to visit for an adult arcade experience, you might want to think twice. View all feedback.
Great food and drink specialities and great entertainment!
Visiting from out of town and a good friend recommended this place. Fun quirky atmosphere where you can play arcade games from super large and in charge Space Invaders to Skeet-ball. Plenty of different games no matter the age. Lots of inside seating to spread out and the food and brew selections were great. Group favorites were the wings but everything was good. They also have a small high top perch in the back where you can get a reloaded able card where you can serve the beer yourself. Only ever seen that a few other other places. Great place to go have fun with fam or buddies and just relax. Cheers!!!
This was our first time at a barcade and it was so much fun! The food was really good, especially the burgers! They season their own meat in-house and make them fresh! You can definitely tell! Our waitress, Mindy, did a great job and was super helpful! We will definitely be back!
The best place in VA and NC. We came in on a whim and were skeptical with photos BUT it was one of the best decisions we’ve made just in general. John, the owner, is so welcoming and genuine. Mindi is the guru to guide you to having the best experience as well. We didn’t expect such a clean, inviting, kid and adult friendly environment with the most amazing food! I come from a restaurant and hospitality management background with a worldly foodie palette and would choose this place over so many others. It is not bar food it’s farm fresh with a fun and FUNKY environment. I would come here with my kids or for date night/day. Highly recommend. Best wings, best pizza, fresh meat, fresh and high end cheese on the pizza couldn’t ask for more. Also, best and freshest poppers, okra and a few other fried foods, and I don’t normally eat that many fried foods! ?
Last night was my first time visiting Funky's, and it was fantastic! The atmosphere, service, food, and music were all incredible! I can’t say enough good things about the music! The enthusiasm and passion displayed during the performance were off the charts! I hope Ted sings again soon—I can't wait to hear him play! My whole experience was exactly what I needed. —Rhonda
