I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The service was outstanding and the food was delicious. While it is a bit pricey, the quality is definitely worth it. I highly recommend trying the Duroc Pork Chop and the unique water buffalo milk ice cream. Dining in for dinner cost around $30–50 per person. View all feedback.
What Sebastian Hein doesn't like about Albatross:
Mediocre. The ordered appetizer came at the same time as the main course. The halibut main course was flavorless. The chicken lettuce cups, well...edible, but nothing special. If you plan to have dinner in Danville, maybe try something else. View all feedback.
I was really hoping for this restaurant as they had a great selection of food and wine. sometimes they want the steak or they want to eat light maybe an salate and snuggle. the wine list was promising with old world and new world wines and one of my favorites of paso Robles–Tablas creek. the server was well trained and friendly. eating was half good and half gone. the server directed me to a really fine salat with a beautiful edgy, so good. I ordered the lamm ragu. the fresh pasta was delicious. oddly the ragu had a sweet note either from tomato paste or sugar, it was no natural tomato sweetness. it didn't work. my man ordered a charred cabbage that looked good, but after the first taste the taste was all edgy. my man commanded him to garnish and grunt and I forgot to ask how it was. when we took part with our friends, I said, maybe we can meet here again and this is when I learned from his experience, we don't have to come back here again. Maybe we ordered the wrong things or it was a bad night in the kitchen. Hopefully they're working it out.
That was our first time at albatross, but surprisingly all our dishes were good! we tried Strawberry Gazpacho (for a hot day), whole Brunino fish (real good! no bone honey roasted chicken (not salty at all, five stars for eating in the regular restaurant in the usa is much salted), and curry mussels in creamiger sose w/ brot superb! for the desert we had brotpudding not too sweet, yet too fat ideal to finish a good meal. the cappuccino was very good to better than in most famous coffee shops. pleasant surprises around pretty rare in my personal experience! P.S main dishes are quite large, but we did not hesitate to take rest after home.
Great service, come back. the fried chicken was great!
Dined at Albatross for Mother’s Day Brunch and it was pretty nice. The menu was rather small for a special occasion menu, and we were seated on the patio instead of under the covered tent despite the risk of showers. Food and drinks were tasty, but service was nice but a little lacking. I would dine here again with friends but probably not for a special occasion.
Fresh, healthy, creative menu. Attentive to allergies. Friendly service.
