Yesterday coffee with Mom. Very old Florida, the place I remember as a child. I couldn't help walking around and taking pictures of the place. I can't believe this hidden jewel is in our backyard. View all feedback.
It felt like a dream! I absolutely loved the pecan cluster, and my wife was a big fan of the coconut balls! They price their treats by the pound, which makes it possible to indulge without breaking the bank. Just be careful not to go overboard—I found it easy to fill up on so many delicious options!
The chocolate is fresh and delicious. They had cute gift boxes and baskets. Always make a stop here when I'm in town!
We arrived at Cafe 47, located directly across from Jimmie's Chocolates, which boasts the title of Florida's oldest chocolatier, established in 1947. First and foremost, I must say that Jimmie's Hot Chocolate, made from real chocolate rather than a mix, was absolutely delightful. It certainly didn’t hurt that the weather was perfect for sipping hot cocoa. While our drinks were being freshly prepared, we took countless photos inside the charming shop. After paying for our hot beverages and a milk chocolate reindeer for a friend, we decided to head outside. There are several unique and pleasant outdoor seating areas connecting Jimmie's Chocolates and Cafe 47. However, given the chill in the air that day, we opted to stay warm and enjoy our hot chocolate in the cozy confines of our car. We had hoped to dine at Cafe 47 after indulging in our hot chocolate dessert, but sadly it was closed. Be sure to check out the myriad photos of Jimmie's Chocolates' interior; it really felt like a circus tent had been pitched inside—very festive! My mom remarked that it looked like a beautifully wrapped gift, perhaps hinting at her desire for a personal chocolate store. It's good to have dreams, after all. This place is absolutely charming, featuring an endless variety of chocolates, including mailable chocolate bars adorned with birthday and other greetings—an affordable treat I plan to get for my mom.
The chocolates are incredible! Be sure to try them if you find yourself in Fort Lauderdale.
It's a bit on the expensive side, but absolutely worth it! This café is a must-visit! I've eaten here a few times, and the quality of the ingredients is exceptional. The sirloin burger was cooked to a perfect medium-well and was incredibly juicy. Be sure to come for lunch or dinner and save some room for dessert!
