La Gambille - Damvix

In this region it is often difficult to find a restaurant open on a Monday. La Gambille is a notable exception. They serve a lot of the local delicacies, such as eels, frogs legs and snails they also do a wide range of other dishes. Service is good and friendly and the food well prepared and presented. Well worth a visit!

My Wife and I spent a day in the Marais Poitevin recently and ended up in Damvix, what a lovely place. We had a drink here and a quick look at the menu before taking a boat ride along the canals. Before leaving, we asked the waitress if they served any vegetarian meals, as my Wife doesn't eat meat or fish and she indicated that this would not be a problem. When we returned for lunch, we ordered a cheese omelette and a plate of grilled vegetables without any problem, for my Wife, even though the omelette did not appear on the menu. The staff were very helpful,even though their English and our French attempts were quite pitiful at times. We were able to sit outside, in the sunshine and eat and drink, to our heart's content, without being hurried, in beautiful surroundings. We will definitely be back to Damvix and La Gambille.

We met some rude people who were disrespectful, but it wasn't the staff. You've had the most lamentable behavior towards them. we have and we appreciate this restaurant or the kitchen is irreproachable. very good relation quality price with staff at your service and with smile. Just respect them and not insult them. We really had a shame to see and hear this kind of character. we enjoyed this restaurant and we will come back with great pleasure.
