Not bad Farewell for Dampier, with the exception of the split system air cone systems pump hot air into the already hot outdoor dining area.
This cafe /takeaway is in a great position and a lovely place to sit. the menu is great and the food tasty. service is fair. the thing that let it down for me was the dogs. There were three dogs around the seating and I...would prefer that dogs are not allowed.
I used to come to this restaurant every week for a Red Emperor burger. When it changed ownership, the quality remained the same, even improved for a while. However, there has been a decline in the fish supply recently. I tried to stick with them for a few months, as did my colleagues, but ultimately we had to give up. The food quality has deteriorated to the point of embarrassment. We used to bring guests here to enjoy the ocean view and have a quick lunch, but now the portions are smaller and the food is subpar. It seems like they are prioritizing profit margins over quality. I hope they can turn things around, but I worry that they may end up closing down instead.
This cafe is called something else now and is still great. New owners took over in April and have kept up the standard. The menu is probably better now. They also do dinner on Friday and Saturday. Great idea and can watch the Sunset from...your table. Excellent view.
Today, as a stranger and visitor to this area, alone and in need of sustenance I was initially elated to discover this cafe which allowed dogs to be present. Unfortunately the service area was indoors. I attempted to attract the staff through the service hatch...only to have the glass window closed in my face. On finding the main door I stood there with my well behaved German Shepherd and asked the female behind the counter if dogs were actually allowed and if I could come into the shop to make an order. At the time she was serving a man, who I assume worked locally due to his attire. In hindsight I realise there was a breakdown in communication, however at the time I understood the female to tell me I was ok to go in and make my order. To my disbelief the man became belligerent and offensive towards me and the female then telling me I could not bring my dog into the shop. I didn't think I could in the first place. However, between the two of them they made me feel absolutely awful. I left not being able to make my orde, humiliated and so upset that I had to stop and pull over in a nearby parking bay to compose myself. I might add there were other customers present too. I've never felt so alone and hurt. Your hospitality was no existent. Fortunately for Dampier there was a very helpful lady who stopped by my car to see if I was ok, and directed me to another coffee shop, where they were much more welcoming. Thankyou Hullabaloo Cafe for saving the day!
