We stopped at this little roadside restaurant at the end of a ride down the VA Creeper Trail. It was very busy on a Sunday afternoon but we were seated quickly at the outdoor picnic tables. There was live music and a great relaxed vibe. We ordered a burger, 6 wings and fried mushrooms. The burger and bagged chips were pretty good. The fried mushrooms were the star as they are very unusual because they are sliced mushrooms that are very lightly coated and fried. And then we were very disappointed in the order of 6 boneless wings. It was embarrassingly small served in a big paper boat. They were more the size of popcorn chicken. Barely a substantial one bite boneless chicken ‘wing’. Not only that but I could order two different flavors so I got a ‘wet’ wing and a ‘dry’ wing and the wet sauce ran all through the paper boat and ended up coating my dry wings. The food was ok but I would’ve been embarrassed to serve the order of 6 boneless wings for $10. Anna was our server and she did a pretty good job. She was timely and we received a drink refill.
1st time for us. We had chicken pot pie and fish n chips. Both were very tasty. The pot pie was made with fresh made pie crust and was full of chicken and veggies. The cherry cider also very good.
