This café stands out because it's the only place I've ever dined at (and I travel frequently, both within and outside of Maine) that offers such an extensive vegetarian menu alongside a wide range of non-vegetarian options. The chef is always experimenting with new dishes, which keeps the menu exciting! The staff is friendly and attentive, and while it does get busy when there’s a line out the door, a little wait is worth it. So, hats off to the hardworking and friendly team at Salt Bay Café. I look forward to seeing you all next week!

The menu offers a wide variety of options, catering to both meat lovers and vegetarians. The portions are generous, and the service is quick and friendly. The homemade desserts are delicious. The atmosphere is cozy, enhanced by charming forest-themed decor. As locals, we absolutely love this place!

I live in damariscotta and often stop in the restaurant. the prices are good, eating is good and the servers are cheerful and attentive.

I would advise anyone against eating here. Food is over priced, portions are small. Waitstaff is unfriendly harried, chefs constantly yelling argueing in the kitchen. Food reheated 2-3 times before serving, fancy menu but discusting food, dish washers treated horribly, poor seating, overcrowded, wait times in excess of an hour or two. Do yourself a favor and go to another local resteraunt!
