The atmosphere was fantastic! The food was prepared exactly as I requested, and the staff was very friendly. I would have liked to have Wi-Fi access during my visit, but other than that, it's definitely a place I'd like to return to. View all feedback.
What George James doesn't like about Tater’s Cafe:
We have always loved taters. Took a break for awhile from eating out. We were excited for take out this morning and ordered chicken fried steak. Waffles. Eggs.. bacon. Home toast. Everything tasted microwaved. Reheated ect. Very dudsapointed in all the food. Steak was rubbery. Waffles rubbery and reheated. Toast was mushy and gross. Totally unsatisfied with the food. Very sad. Love it! Back. Great food, had a wonderful breakfast, with friendly service! I had homemade bread for my toast, it was very good.. Experienced, I guess most people in town know where to go to breakfast!!! A little wait to get a place, but it's worth it! Great prices... I'll go back.
Wow Josh must have had a bad day. This place is great. I eat here most everyday. I had the chicken fried steak and must say that it was excellent. The pretty waitress kept my coffee full and offered a nice smile to boot. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for good home cooked style food at great prices. My only advice is to come during the slow periods of the day since this place fills up fast for breakfast and lunch.
Worth the trip. My bride of 43 years likes to bird watch at Basket Slew. My selfless willingness to drive her all the way out there gives me the perfect excuse to visit Taters. (HeHe ; Breakfast or lunch. Either one will just about set you free! 2/25/11 Note: There is something very fishy about the low percentage of I like it votes here. We 've eaten here a number of times in the past year and there 's just not much to fault. Some months ago there was a spate of very vindictive reviews on this place. The Urban Spoon folks recognized them as negative Shill posts and deleted them. I have to wonder if a little more oblique effort to torpedo this place is not underway. I hate to see a good place get sabotaged. Just a thought.
Quaint and Cozy. First visit. Went on a Saturday morning. Usual wait for a table. The dining area looks like it used to be a living room of a residence. Couldn't have been more than 12 tables. Wait staff was friendly. Prices were relatively cheap. I ordered the special which was German sausage with eggs, hashbrowns, and a biscuit. My wife ordered the Belgian waffles with eggs and bacon. I was grateful to find out that they don't use Egg Beaters. The eggs were done properly. The German sausage was tasty. However, the Belgian waffles were buffet size and they tasted like they used pancake mix for them. They were a little too bready. The biscuit was delicious. Great all around. Spent less than $20 including tip. We will return.
Great food and service, and the management is really generous within the community! This is a small town restaurant that is fun to support!
