Had a booking for weeks they would not honour, showed them proof but just did not care. We were dressed well and were not intoxicated or anything untoward. There was no reason for them to say no apart from a large ‘group booking’. Disgustingcustomer service, we planned our entire night around the booking and they were so unaccommodating and uncaring. Nasty behaviourthat left a nasty aftertaste.
The ambiance at Local was fantastic! The food was absolutely outstanding and made from fresh, quality ingredients. The chef's tasting menu was well worth the price. And believe me, you won't want to miss out on dessert!
When we finally got our drinks, the staff never returned to check if we wanted refills. We opted for the tasting menu, which was delicious and clearly well-conceived by the chef. However, the waitstaff fell short in explaining each dish and making sure our drinks were topped off. At one point, they mistakenly started serving us a wine pairing that we hadn’t ordered, yet they still included it on our bill. Although they did correct the billing mistake, it underscored the need for better training in fine dining service for the team. A multi-course tasting menu should be a leisurely affair, but our experience stretched to three hours on a weeknight, which felt excessive. This type of meal should be treated as a special occasion, and considering the prices, we anticipated a much higher level of service.
I dined at this restaurant with my girlfriend for a special, dressed-up date night. The atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant were lovely, with dim lighting and candles on each table. When we visited on 4/20/24 at 5:45, we were the only ones in the restaurant, which added to the romantic setting. I mentioned to the manager that the parking was expensive ($24), and he kindly removed it from our bill at the end of our meal. I ordered the scallops, which were delicious but not very filling for the price of $50. The ambiance of the restaurant made the prices seem more reasonable. I don't typically dine at fancy restaurants, but this was a nice experience. I may not return solely because of the expensive parking and the portion sizes. Overall, if you're looking for a romantic evening in Dallas, the atmosphere of this restaurant will not disappoint.
