The chef is amazing and I enjoyed some delicious spaghetti, a fresh salad, and a satisfying breakfast. The view from the restaurant in Dakhla is truly breathtaking, overlooking the ocean. I highly recommend this place and would give it 5 stars.

Conveniently located in a popular downto... read more Samarkand is a beautiful and relaxing café and restaurant directly overlooking the vast blue lagoon in Dakhla, Morocco. Conveniently located in a popular downtown area on Boulevard Mohammed V near other cafés, restaurants and hotels, you walk into a beautiful garden surrounded by bougainvillea with individual seating areas in semi-private arcades and lattice pergolas. Samarkand is a great place to enjoy a coffee, tea, soda or water while watching the children swimming in the shallow waters of the lagoon accessed from a white sand beach and rocks. Upstairs is a moderately-priced restaurant with pizza, fish and other food items. There is also a direct view of the lagoon from the restaurant.

The Moroccan design elements blend North African, Mediterranean, and Islamic styles, making for a unique atmosphere. While the food is not the cheapest, everyone recommends a visit to this popular spot.
