What wendyporter doesn't like about Wyevale Garden Centre:
We went to get some plants for the garden and thought we would have breakfast it was nice as only one ofter couple in the cafe my husband had breakfast with hollandaise sauce and I asked for the breakfast sandwich with a soft egg when mine came it was little bits of bacon, one sausage, cut up hashbrown, just the skin of the tomato and a few half of mushroom on this very thin white bread no butter the egg was hard and... I am disappointed to say that this garden centre, which was once a reliable spot for a great breakfast, has now turned into an expensive, low quality, and unwelcoming café. The staff lack a friendly demeanor and the service is lacking compared to when older employees were working. Even the amount of butter on the toast has decreased. The pricing at the checkout is inconsistent and no receipt is provided. I cannot recommend this place anymore.
I met a friend for brunch at this restaurant. The outdoor seating area was lovely and popular. The staff were very busy but still polite and helpful. We both ordered Eggs Benedict, which did not specify if it was vegetarian. The dish came out disappointing, with a cold piece of ham on soggy bread and missing the watercress mentioned on the menu. The only positive was that the eggs were cooked well. The restroom was also unpleasant, with one toilet unflushed and lacking proper amenities. Overall, it was not a great experience.
I recently visited the Tring Garden Centre for the first time and decided to try out the restaurant for Sunday lunch. Unfortunately, we were a bit annoyed to find that despite having regular menus on the tables, the only option available that day was the carvery. It was frustrating to have wasted time choosing from the menu only to realize we couldn't order from it. However, we ended up trying the kids packed lunch, which was a hit with my children. My husband enjoyed the carvery, finding it reasonably priced. I personally liked my toasted ciabatta with tuna and cheese, and my mum was pleased with her jacket potato. The salad served with our meals was also excellent. The food arrived promptly and all together, although the queue to order was quite long due to the restaurant's popularity. The cakes were a bit overpriced at £4.50 for a slice, and the coffee cake was disappointing. The car park was a bit tricky to navigate. I didn't use the restroom, so I cannot comment on that. Overall, we had a pleasant visit and would consider returning in the future, especially to explore the garden centre further.
If you want to pay £14 for a very average tuna sandwich with an excuse for a salad no dressing or care with presentation) , a cold sausage roll and two bottles of soda with no ice then this is the place to head for. Oh… it took 30 minutes to arrive btw. Really poor restaurant with inadequate staff. We shall not return.
The carvery food is excellent. We really enjoy coming on Sunday and Wednesday. Good wholesome roast dinner. Well done to all of the hardworking team who deliver this.
