Dec 2022 I want to mention I only understand English, and I was taken here by my Chinese-speaking relatives. We came during the lunch rush, so there was a bit of a wait. What Shin C doesn't like about Yamato Japanese:
The chef and food was good. But man, all of the waiters need some work with their attitude. They are getting mad for no reason. Ask for a menu, they get mad, tell you to get it yourself. They bring me the wrong food (after 40 minutes because they forgot), get mad, takes it away, waited another 20 minutes. Server need a lot of training on how to be a server. View all feedback.
Delicious bentos priced fairly and fresh and delicious salmon sashimi. A must visit if in the area
Dec 2022 I want to mention I only understand English, and I was taken here by my Chinese-speaking relatives. We came during the lunch rush, so there was a bit of a wait. The place was dimly lit and noisy. They have tables, booths, and seating at the sushi bar. The staff were polite and brisk, and gave us wet towels when we sat down. We got some of the combos: BBQ Mackerel, Eel Rice, and Pork Katsu. The combos come with rice, miso soup, marinated radish and cabbage, and steamed egg. The mackerel and tonkotsu also came with an extra veggie dish. The staff also gave us complementary red bean soup with sticky rice balls as dessert. All of the food was yummy and for a good price. Would come again, but probably not during the lunch rush.
Excellent value set menus and a-la-carte onigiri. The sukiyaki is good too and generously portioned.
Decent Japanese Teishoku menu with very reasonable lunch price. It is located only few steps from MRT Station 中正紀念堂.
Great food against a very good price. Mixed sushi bowl, comes with green tea and red bean soup as desert. Very basic English, but pointing and gesturing at the menu (English translation as well) does just fine. Sit at the bar to watch the chefs make it!
