Simply the best view in Cuxhaven, with commanding views of the traffic on the Elbe and the sunset too if you're there at the right time. The food is excellent, and the desserts delicious. Treat yourself to a steak! View all feedback.
What Ekkehard Vetter doesn't like about DONNER'S Wein & Kuchenbar:
By North American standards the hotel rooms are very small. I keep bumping into things and knocking my luggage off the luggage rack. The rooms are clean and the staff are friendly and speak English. On the plus side breakfast is excellent. Within walking distance of my business meetings. View all feedback.
I was staying at the hotel and decided to try their restaurant for dinner. Great view of the North Sea. Ordered the rib eye - dry aged steaks are supposed to almost "melt in your mouth" and can be cut easily. This one was a bit tough, but flavor was good. With spinach, grilled vegetables, and a Coke the bill was ~ 41 Euro - a bit steep.

At the recommendation of the waiter, we ordered a 3 course meal, with local fish soup as a starter. At first I did not think I would like a fish soup, but it was excellent. It was a creamy soup and contained tiny shrimp with two pieces of local fish. For the main course I ordered local North Sea fish and received two filets. One had a banana compote on top, while the other had bacon infused tiny shrimp, and both were excellent. Finally, for dessert I ordered the creme brûlée with blueberry sorbet which was the icing on the cake. It was one of the best meals I had during our Germany trip.
It was simply good! Great local specialities and decent prices. The view from the 6 th floor is really beatyful. Good for romantic dinners too!!
