Family owned, away from the main stream, authentic cusine with fantastic service and a wide variety of dish choices from andean kebobs to mouth-watering trout with spiced quinoa, pastas, soups, cuy (guinea pig -another traditional andean dish) and more, all for a fair price. Awful place. Ambience was nice when we walked in even though no one was there on a busy Sunday night at 7.00 pm. Set menu was for S/15. Salad was small by okay. Pasta was pre-cooked and microwaved and tossed with soya, bits of chicken and small peices of veg and served in a cereal bowl. I’m sure there are many other small unassuming restaurants in Cuzco but this is one we happened upon. Nothing real fancy from the outside or within but the food is great!
Staying at a hostel just up the way, we'd slowly been working our way through the various restaurants along this street. Tonight was Amaranto's turn and boy were we delighted! Friendly welcome, great service and excellent food. I had the vegetable egg fried rice and my partner had the mixed kebab. Both were perfectly portioned and seasoned as well as being cooked fresh directly in front of us. Some of the best food we've had in Peru at a very reasonable price. We'll definitely be back!
We had the most amazing meal here! The attention to detail and flavor is out of this world! And, the price can't be beat! You better go here before the world discovers just how great this place is!
