Pineapple Thai - Cupertino
Pineapple Thai
Menu
A complete overview of all 33 dishes and beverages can be found here on the menu of Pineapple Thai from Cupertino.
Pineapple Thai in Cupertino offers a broad, pineapple-forward Thai menu—standout curries, pad Thai, crispy smelt and a famous pineapple dessert—framed by a cozy, tropical interior with indoor/outdoor seating. Staff are friendly and the cocktails are fun, but service can be slow (notably drink delays) and indoor tables feel cramped. Food quality is inconsistent: some dishes are excellent while others arrive overcooked or lukewarm, and prices trend toward the costly. Nearby parking (2 free hours) is convenient; a 3% wellness fee applies. Worth a try with caveats.

We went on a Friday evening. The restaurant was busy and has both indoor and outdoor seating. We opted to sit indoors. The indoor seating feels somewhat cramped for space, since the tables are very close by. The food was alright, although I found it pricey for what we ordered. The cocktails took a *long* time to come out. Especially the one in the power ranger mug, it arrived almost after I was finished with my Pineapple fried rice. Our server was apologetic and kept telling us that it's on the way. It seemed like they were out of the mugs that they served the drink in, and were waiting on another patron to finish their drink, so they could use that mug for my drink after cleaning. I feel the place is alright to give a try, the ambience is nice and the cocktails are good. Food tasted okay, but I feel someone can get much flavorful Thai food elsewhere for much less.Parking: There's a parking garage very close, lots of space, free for the first 2 hours
The shrimp summer rolls were fresh tasty. Their peanut sauce was so good we ordered an extra bowl of it for our entrees. Sesame chicken was fresh perfectly cooked with a light batter. Chicken Pad Thai was a good portion, delicious served with bean sprouts. I'll def go back here again
We couldn't figure out what to eat, so we just came to this plaza to find this new gem. At the moment you walk in, the staffs are so friendly with a cozy ambiance both inside and out. We tried the pad thai with pork (flavorful, pork slices different from other thai restaurants), smelt fish (so good! They said it's thai traditional food), coconut rice (actually green from the leaf with just enough frangrance), beef curry (I believe it's their special), and Cha Cha Matcha drink to go with everything. We loved our server and the whole experience there. Will definitely be back!
Very tasty pad see ew with chicken, and extremely tasty mango sticky rice!! Our server Taylor was wonderful, nice, and attentive. She always had our water glasses filled, and the staff was able to bring out the dessert at the perfect time for our group of 7 to share. Two of our party showed up late, at the time of lunch closing (2:30) on Memorial Day, and they were able to still get their food because the staff did a last call for food orders. We'll be coming back again for sure!
My first two meals at Pineapple Thai were excellent. But my three subsequent meals have been disappointing. The three disappointments were: 1) duck was overcooked, not juicy and tender; 2) Cornish game hen was overcooked so badly that I left 2/3 of it uneaten; 3) a meal was served when it was not hot, was lukewarm. On two of those problem occasions, I told the waitress about the food problem. Her response was: I will tell the cook. On one occasion I informed the manager and his response was: I will tell the cook. What was disappointing was the neither the manager nor the waitress apologized. They should have. And they should have offered some recourse to me, such as some off the cost or a gift card for my next visit. They did neither. And that is poor management and waitress training. The impression is that they do not care. The Pineapple Thai manager and wait staff are quite friendly. The décor is pleasant. So I was disappointed that I had three meal problems and no offer of help. I may try them again or I may not, It would be good if the manager or the owner reaches out to me to offer something. Otherwise, I conclude that Pineapple Thai does not care about customer satisfaction. There are a lot of other Thai restaurants without similar problems.
