I have been here or had food from here before and this is for certain—it is great BBQ. I had the pulled pork sandwich, with huge chunks of pork, served without sauce but with a pick-your-own selection on the side, while my guests had the ribs, both great servings. I also had cornbread which was still hot from the oven. My only issue was with the cole slaw which, while fresh, could use a touch of vinegar, Duke’smayo, and salt for flavor. Otherwise the service was helpful and we walked away quite full!

We did not have to detour far off of our route back home to Pennsylvania to find this small small counter service restaurant in the little strip mall. I had looked it up on Google maps because we were looking for a quick place to have lunch. The pulled chicken and beef biscuits were both excellent. Service counter staff were wonderful very polite and friendly. Our food came out quickly and it was hot and fresh. We will definitely keep this place in mind the next time we are traveling I'm looking for a place to have lunch.

I came to Virginia to visit my son and his family. They brought me here to eat and me being from Texas WOW!! Better than any BBQ I’ve had in Texas and I was born and raised there. Nothing can compare to Shawn’s! I had the most Brisket and the dry rub Ribs with Coleslaw and it was absolutely amazing! I brought myself back the night before I flew back home because I HAD to have it again! PLEASE open one of these in Texas or for that matter several!

This is definitely our favorite bbq spot, the coleslaw with coconut is out of this world. I prefer the brisket. The baked beans are also very good a little spice but not too much.
