What Walter Perrin doesn't like about Giuseppe's Ristorante:
This "Italian" restaurant is NOT the best in Cuernavaca and the ravioli which were the worst I have ever had should have been used as a bookends-they weighed about the same with thick dough, and "mistery meat" inside. The bread is from Sams Club, as too the cheap pasta and forget about any creativity or authentic receipes-pesto? Never heard of it...The best Italian restaurants are Casa Piemonte, Paparazzi (with a real... View all feedback.
Eduardo Foster, the owner of Giuseppe's has moved the restaurant to Rio Mayo 60, Colonia Vista Hermosa. The new location has a different atmosphere, but the food and service are just as great as ever.
I have in the last 7 years been trying to find the best pizza in Cuernavaca, which for me means a well made Italian-style thin crust. After sampling the mediocre fare in other establishments (Marco Polo springs to mind), the pizzas in Guiseppes were the best I had found for quite a while, but that put them in the category "least bad" rather than "excellent". But since then I've tried the pizzas in Il Trovatore and they are much better, much closer to an authentic Italian style. The restaurant is pleasant enough, nothing special, it has garden tables but this is the smoking section, so we've never eaten out there. The pasta, as another review pointed out, is very average. The service is fine, the atmosphere welcoming. A couple of years ago they didn't have proper high chairs for young children, which meant we had to walk out (they offered to tie our children to the seats with tea towels, but really, that's not an acceptable solution). They may have corrected this moission by now, but if you have babies/toddlers, it might be worth checking in advance.

I like the place, I have been there several times. However, for an italian place there are some unacceptable don'ts:1. Their bolognesa sauce is canned2. Their raviolli is packed!3. Their tiramisu is from Costco for crying out loud!But1. The three cheese calzone is awesome2. Pizzas are quite good3. The service is flawless4. The place is super prettyI have been there many times and I will come back.
This restaurant certainly looked good and has a pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately, I ordered a vegetarian lasagne and they served me meat lasagne and didn't even apologise when I pointed it out. Later, when we received our bill, we were charged 285 pesos for a can of 7up. They later corrected the bill but the overall experience was very disappointing.
