Excellent place for lamb. The gazpacho was also delicious Recommended and worth returning Cost per pax without desert or coffee was 37
We were lucky to get a table for lunch on a Saturday afternoon, particularly as we had not booked. The restaurant was full of Spanish people, which is always a good sign. Although we do not speak Spanish the waiting staff made us feel welcome, and were patient. We shared the Castilian soup which consisted of bean and some pieces of pork meat, which was delicious. Then we had the steak and ham shank in a savoury gravy, both accompanied with baked, sliced potatoes. There were also various sizes of suckling pig and lamb to choose on the menu, which seemed to be a specialty. All looked well cooked. We finished with the rice pudding with a cinnamon sugar on top and the cheesecake, both excellent. The wine was very reasonably priced. The restaurant was very clean. We would go back in an instant.
Sincerely....not up to the reviews i’ve seen here. Mushrooms tasted vinager-ish...Piglet was too done.... bread unnecessarily served in plastic, as in a school lunchroom.... no beer from the draft.... COVID does not justify everything. Far from expectations....
We had lunch here during our visit to Cuenca. Luckily we read the reviews before and called them for booking a table. We asked for the roasted lamb and it was delicious and we were left wanting for more. If you are a meat lover you must visit this place.
We had dinner at Asador de Antonio fortunately I 'd rung well in advance to book a table, because the place fills up and with good reason. The reason for going was the 'cordero lechal ' baby lamb which was excellent; perfectly cooked, unadulterated and oh so sweet.Just a few roast potatoes as an accompaniment. The real find of the evening, however, was the starter of 'morteruelo, ' which is a kind of shredded meat with breadsticks. Turns out to be a speciality of Cuenca and is absolutely delicious. Nice wines at reasonable prices. My only slight complaint is that the red wine was too warm for my liking, but that 's a matter of personal taste. all in all, a great dinner at very reasonable prices! Recommended!!
