The owner/chef is Italian and makes the fresh pasta. The flavors are the true Italian ones, not the toque Mexicano that happens to a lot of foreign food here in Mexico. This is the real deal. He has a small selection of fresh pasta to go, along with Italian charcuterie. He also said that given a day's advance notice, he would consider making off menu items. This is a trattoria so this means a relatively informal environment and it is open only from about noon to 6pm. I can't recommend this place enough if you want great pasta, good wine, and reasonable prices.
We arrived by chance, walking past and wondering what the place was about. We actually thought it just sold pasta given the name. But it is a small and informal eatery, with a friendly staff and a comforting menu. Some dishes are better than others. The nordic salad for example was geographically defined by two slithers of herring on top! Not so Italian or so Nordic in fact. Maybe some smoked fish or salmon would justify the name! The pasta was nice. And the chefs friendly. The wine list by the glass was quite limited. Either white or red. A good choice for a neighbourhood pasta place.
Llegué por algo específico y salí con más. Hay una muy interesante variedad de quesos, vinos y productos italianos. Declaro mi interés por convertirme en comensal frecuente. Me encantó. Gracias por la experiencia.
This is an out of the way Italian restaurant owned and managed by an Italian chef that is passionate about his food, he does not allow for nonsense and does not try to Mexicanize it's cuisine. They only have four tables and no alcohol is served except for wine. Be early or reserve and consider yourself very lucky if you can get in.This is actually authentic Tuscan food. From the bread baked daily served with no limit, to the fresh home made pasta with fungi porcini, simply there is no way to go wrong. My only advise is to go early (it's only open for lunch and closes at 19:00) and go hungry. You must save space for dessert and lavazza expresso. The restaurant is located in Medellin street on the outskirts of Colonia Roma with no parking and no valet, don't let this deter you, simply either walk, Uber or park on the previous block.
