It was our first time in Mexico City and my husband made reservations here our 2nd night in the city (we take turns planning trips and it was his turn to plan this trip). After I read the review here on TA, I was thinking about canceling as there were more negative reviews than positive reviews. The last thing I wanted, is to have an over priced meal that is bland with rude staff. That was not our experience at all. We decided how bad could it be? and let's go with an open mind. I will be honest, the wine is overpriced for the small pours you get. We decided to sip mezcal, which is something I usually would never try. It was great, served with oranges slices and salt. We decided not to order bread as I felt it overpriced and read some reviews it wasn't great. (Funny thing is I went to their bakery this morning and was spoiled by their pastries). They brought out complimentary bread with olive oil and it was delicious very moist and fresh, and the olive oil was tasty and rich. There were two types of bread, one tasted like it had a hint of chocolate in it, the other was another type of artisan layered bread. Our starter/appetizer was corn tamales with celeriac and smoked cream. Perfect for us to share as there were two tamales. The cream sauce was creamy with a hint of smoke, not overwhelming. The tamales were full of corn taste and quite savory. Dinner was sweet potato tamal with match sauce and buttermilk, and pork shoulder with pink mole and hoja santa. We both split the two entrees and were not disappointed. I love sauces, and their sauces were amazing, but I felt like the entree could easily stand alone without the sauce, and therefore the sauce was a bonus. The pork shoulder was very moist and the outside skin tasted like crispy thin bacon. We didn't end up ordering desert (although all the options looked amazing), as we didn't have the room. The service was great. Maybe not perfect, but they were not rude like others said in their reviews but then again, we treat others how we want to be treated. I do think at first they were trying to rush us, like others said in their review. I wasn't bothered by that because we won't be rushed if we are not ready. They came back to our table a few times for our orders and we politely said we were not ready to order and they were Ok with it. Would I go back yes! Were the portions small yes, but we left full and I felt like the food had enough flavor. It was rich enough if you took the time to eat it slowly, and actually enjoy each bite and taste the multitude of layered flavors. I love salt (something I don't like to admit), and yet even if there was salt on the table I wouldn't have used it. It was actually nice not to leave the restaurant without leftovers, they never taste as good afterwards, and I hate to waste food, so I still take it home. Don't let some of the negative review here on this site bother you. Go with an open mind, enjoy the experience and really taste the food perhaps you will have a 5 star experience like we had.
A small yet cozy place, with excellent cuisine; mainly Mexican-Italian fusion. Starting with their bread up until dessert, everything was Superb! We loved it.
Nice place , very busy. We arrived 20' late because of traffic and our table was gone. We were offered a table on the sidewalk that was nice. Service was very good and the explanation of the plates by the waiters was impressive.

Listen — how this place has a Michelin star is incredibly confusing to me. The service is horrendous. Food is fine but the smell of sewage at the table and lack of service makes it all mediocre at best. STAY AWAY. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
