Was Sanchezho at La Ventanita a mag?

This place literally takes you away to another place outside the rush of Mexico City, a really good place. It's located in front of Cibeles Fountain, outdoor seating is a must, coffee and tea infusions are awesome, the eggs are cooked on a skillet inside a wood oven. Everything is delicious, but try the Chipotle Eggs, Chai Latte, Green Juice Blueberry muffin (o yeah, did I mention it's just baked? View all feedback.

What AAppa dislikes about La Ventanita:

The location is nice because it is in Cibeles fountain. There are no tables inside so you necessarily have to seat outside, which is nice if the weather is good. The espresso was burned, which is unacceptable. The price was good, less than a dollar for the espresso but it doesn't worth. View all feedback.

Cute and quirky restaurant near the cibeles fountains with its seats on the sidewalk. I had a great egg dish here (eggs on top of a soft tortillas). Their cappuccino is excellent. Since their seating is all outdoor, this place is not the best during the cold months.

When traveling and I choose a place to eat based on a list geared towards tourists, I generally have a set of preconceived notions. Thankfully, La Ventanita Cafe didn't fit into any of them. The outdoor seating next to an area frequented by talented musicians and a beautiful view of the fountain in the center of the Plaza yet shaded enough to feel away from the street is nice. Unlike many restaurants, the tables didn't feel so close together which I appreciate. The fact that most of the other diners seemed to be locals and not tourists was also appreciated. The service was very thoughtful...the waiter asked my name and always referred to me by name afterwards and even left a mini-chalkboard tablet with his name on it so I wouldn't forget. I had one of the egg dishes (so good and fresh and flavorful) as well as a juice (very tasty) and a latte with almond milk (I'm from LA and trying to reduce my dairy intake..lol). I enjoyed the meal very much and was surprised at how reasonable the cost was considering I've eaten more basic meals at blah restaurants in Mexico City that have cost double. In short, I highly recommend La Ventanita and look forward to going back many more times.

The food is not that good. I could tell some of the things are prepared in advance (there’s no way around it) but man, some were really chewy, some bland. Lacks flavor. Their chef (if they have one) should try the food coming out of the kitchen. Only fresh things are fruit extracts or smoothies. Oh, and don’t even try the coffee, it’s like reheated old tea. Finally, if you are there fir the view and outdoor space, don’t let them seat you at a table inside the business next door, it’s a pizza place and you won’t have a view, plus you’ll be breathing their wooden oven smoke.
