Beautiful restaurant; very elegant. Service was very slow. Was not impressed with the Tortilla Española. My wife makes one 100 times better. Croquetas de Jamón were average. Sopa de Pollo was very salty. The Rioja house wine was not tastful.
This is one of the landmark historic hotels in CDMX. (That means Mexico City. Porfurio Diaz was inaugurated here in 1905....thats a President of Mexico. The service is very good and this is a white tablecloth, velvet drapery, crystal chandelier palace. Take your photos it will impress your mom/friends back home. The house wines are very good, and about 300 pesos...$15 US...what deal! Definitely order the Spanish mixed salad...it is HUGE and a meal in itself and at 130 pesos! Now for the main dish...they are huge so just order your favorite...just one for the two of us because it arrives on a huge plate with potatoes and salad. We substituted potatoes for salad so all healthy, waiter said no prob for this substitution. They have a very bad chef for meats...so just order the simplest foods and hope he makes them ok. BUT but you can bliss out on the great wine, salad, quiet music, and NO tourists. It's a find, and where Porfurio Diaz the Mexican president was inauguated in 1905. We dine here every time are here and its a tradition for us... tonite was Valentine Dinner
Great Spanish food, with great Spanish ingredients. The service is very good. The paella was just perfect and the Cordero was also very nice. Get ready to share the portions are big. Good to visit with family and friends.
I have heard about this place some time ago. I was in for good Spanish food but I was quite disappointed. Service was OK but food was only so so.
