I had a sushi/sashimi combo that was good, a bit warm for my taste, but reasonably fresh and well prepared. there are much better sushi places in the posh districts of the city, but this place was good enough for a get for sushi during the stay in the nearby hilton.
I was in the barcello hotel where this restaurant is located. after long days of the tour of the sights of Mexico City it was nice to take the elevator just up to this sweet little place. I ate very early at 5:30, so the restaurant was mostly empty and quiet. I ordered the miso soup that arrived hot and tasty followed by the tempura garnel and vegetables; both were crispy and delicious. her house white wee were cheap and good. the decor is cute faux japanese with big screen game scenes by japan. one night I only got tempura garnel and sweet and brought them into the executive lounge and enjoyed happy hour.
As we arrived the waiters were kind although there's an opportunity there for improvement. We were quickly told to choose any table, and then asked if we wanted something to drink. My girlfriend and I ordered a mixed sashimi dish and the house's fried rice,...it was plentiful! We weren't able to finish it all, yet I was astonished by the freshness of the fish. The fried rice had a lot of sea food in it, which I'm not entirely convinced was what I was expecting. We had a couple of ice creams as dessert which were delicious, and were told are prepared by them. But the true surprise came with the check, I couldn't believe how affordable this place is for such quality in their meals. I'm not sure this restaurant is a great option for a date night, but is definitely a fantastic place for large groups and business lunches and dinners.
I loved this place so much that I had eaten two nights in a row. I ordered individual pieces of nigiri and the quality of the fish was excellent. also the garnelentempura and the mistsuppe were very good. service was fast and friendly. I'm looking forward to my next visit.
Their sushi is really good. As is one salad that we ordered with octopus an noodles with pickeld cucumbers. Don't remember the name. Their prices are reasonable. The service is quick the only thing I can't compliment on is the decord. But if you are...in for a nice roll or sushi or ramen soup this place is for you. I will definitely go back... Soon. You can actually see Japanese people in this place so they must be doing something right.
