I would recommend it.

We were met by the owner who was very engaging and very welcoming. If you are after a Michelin rated restaurant, walk straight by as this is a local restaurant. If you wish to have a nice meal with great service and good ambience, then this is probably a good place for you. The menu is limited, but has a few quirky dishes such as stingray soup.If you should enter the restaurant during a quiet period, ask the manager to show you the different tequilas and Mezcals that he stocks. You will enjoy the experience as he has some unusual and hard to find examples.It is worth the effort to visit and to subsequently enjoy yourself.

My friends and i spent a few nights there drinking beer and sharing food together, the service is wonderful and you feel so welcome as soon as you walk in :) my favourite is the mac and cheese plus a beer :)

The menu is simple,... read more I ate at Carambuco twice while on a business visit. It was close to my hotel (Krystal Grand) and seemed a lot more authentic than the hotel. The menu is simple, the food competent and tasty. This is not a must-do culinary experience but highly recommended for a satisfying meal at a low price - about 200 pesos for a meal, salsa and chips and cervesas. The elderly waiter was taciturn on my first visit but considerably more friendly and jocular the second time.

The prices... read more We had the fortune of staying at the hostel attached to this restaurant. We ate here 4 times during our stay and loved our meal each and every time. The prices were the best we saw in Mexico City and the salsa is homemade and a perfect taco accompaniment. Only problem is that the restaurant was so good it was hard to force ourselves out into the city for dinner!
