Indian Ocean - Croydon

I ordered takeout from Indian Ocean at 5:20 pm, anticipating a delay due to it being a busy Saturday night. The initial delivery time was set for 6:20 pm, but was later pushed to 7:00 pm. By 7:10 pm, my food still hadn't arrived and after contacting the restaurant, I was informed that my order was on its way and would be there in 10 minutes. After 20 minutes passed with no sign of my food, I contacted the restaurant again and was given the same response. I expressed my concerns about the food possibly being cold by the time it arrived, but was told it was taking longer because I lived too far away (even though I was within their free delivery radius and only a 12-minute drive away). When the food finally arrived, as predicted, it was cold. I informed the restaurant of this, but was initially told it wasn't cold and then blamed for living too far away. Despite their excuses, I was disappointed with the service and requested to speak to a manager. After being put on hold for 20 minutes and then hung up on, I attempted to contact the manager but was told they were unavailable. I obtained the name of the person I spoke with, who identified himself as Josh, in hopes that the restaurant would address his disrespectful behavior towards customers. If I had received a simple apology instead of excuses and blame, I may have been able to salvage my meal, but unfortunately, most of it ended up in the trash. I strongly advise avoiding this restaurant.

This restaurant offers excellent food with very friendly service. The prices are very reasonable and customers can bring their own alcohol. As a self-proclaimed expert in Indian cuisine, this is my favorite restaurant for Indian food.

We enjoy exploring new restaurants, but this one was just average. If you're a fan of onion bhajis, I wouldn't recommend trying them here as they were either poorly made or we just had bad luck with our order. I ordered the chicken tikka masala, which was just average and even found a bone in it.

This restaurant is fantastic! The prices are reasonable, the service is friendly, and the food is especially delicious. The curries are all very tasty, even the spicy ones like madras and vindaloo.

The food at this restaurant is extremely tasty. The kitchen may not be the quickest, but the dishes are made to order and served fresh. The establishment is not overly modernized or overly fancy. The service is very friendly. We have never dined here before, but we definitely plan on returning soon. The prices are also very affordable, only half of what you would expect to pay at other restaurants in Croydon.
