We went to the restaurant for lunch to commemorate the anniversary of my father-in-law, who passed away 2 years ago. The restaurant was bustling, which was a good sign, so we were grateful that we had made a reservation in advance, especially during half term. However, the noise level was high, making it difficult to hear our own conversation at times. We were seated at a cozy table by the fire, which was nice as we waited for our food. The menu was extensive and varied, as usual. My mother-in-law ordered the seabass again, following our previous visit for her birthday, and she was not disappointed. Despite the generous portion size, she opted for a smaller dessert and a free hot drink to round off a memorable visit for her.

Excellent in every way. I did have a slight problem with one of the puddings but was well sorted by the excellent staff.

This was a special gathering for my friends. The bar staff were friendly and welcoming. Food was quick and tasted amazing. However we found that they left us quite a while before clearing our places and therefore we no longer fancied pudding! Shame

After previous positive experiences, we were very disappointed with our recent visit to this restaurant. The staff were not very friendly, service was slow and had to be requested, and the Hunters Chicken we ordered was not up to our usual expectations. It was simply a piece of chicken, a thick slice of bacon, and some chips. When my wife asked for an alternative to the chips, she still ended up with sweet potato chips, which she did not enjoy. Overall, the dish was overpriced for what it was. We had driven thirty miles for a special occasion but based on this experience, we will not be returning to this restaurant. We were very disappointed.
