Contribute FeedbackThe restaurant has a lovely ambiance and well-renovated pub atmosphere, ideal for walks in Ashdown Forest. While some dishes received mixed reviews, like the prawn cocktail and falafel starters, the sea bass and roasts stood out as delicious options. Prices were reasonable, and the staff were very friendly, with particular praise for server Alicia. Despite some disappointments with certain dishes, the extensive menu and cozy setting by the fire provided a memorable dining experience. Overall, the restaurant offers good food and service, making it a solid choice for a meal out in the neighborhood.
We went to the restaurant for lunch to commemorate the anniversary of my father-in-law, who passed away 2 years ago. The restaurant was bustling, which was a good sign, so we were grateful that we had made a reservation in advance, especially during half term. However, the noise level was high, making it difficult to hear our own conversation at times. We were seated at a cozy table by the fire, which was nice as we waited for our food. The menu was extensive and varied, as usual. My mother-in-law ordered the seabass again, following our previous visit for her birthday, and she was not disappointed. Despite the generous portion size, she opted for a smaller dessert and a free hot drink to round off a memorable visit for her.
Excellent in every way. I did have a slight problem with one of the puddings but was well sorted by the excellent staff.
This restaurant is the perfect spot to enjoy delicious food at affordable prices.
Good food and service. The roast dinners were delicious with a generous portion of meat and vets. My partner had sticky duck salad which he said was delicious.
Easy to book. Visited early Saturday evening pleasant atmosphere and not noisy. Also good for garden and convenient parking.
