What Stephen White doesn't like about Bruceskis:
Honestly, one of the worst doner/gyro/shawarmas that I’ve ever had. The lamb tasted old and funky and had little pieces of bone through it that almost cracked one of my teeth. The pita was very old and the sauce tasted like water. Extremely small portions and high prices. $15 for a gyro with 2 pieces of meat. I wouldn’t try it again unless nothing else was open. My husband and I ate here for lunch while visiting the Girdwood Brewery. They were out of chicken when we ordered, so we had to get the beef and lamb kebab wrap. It was yummy! It took a bit for the food to come out, but the wait wasn't too bad, especially because we had our small flight of beer to drink as we waited by the firepit. The beef and lamb kebab was very flavorful, and I liked the texture of the meat in each bite.
The food here was okay! It's more of a good vibes area. If you come here, I would recommend the gyro but the falafel is pretty good too!
I had the Sis Tavuk Chicken pita and an order of fries with sauce on the side. The fries were crispy and well seasoned and went well dipped in the tahini sauce. The chicken pita was DELICIOUS! I really really enjoyed my meal and highly recommend them. Unfortunately I was only in town for a short time but wish I could take them home with me! The lady working the window was friendly and efficient with taking orders and payments. They gave a little buzzer to notify you when your order was ready which did not take long.
Love the name, very clever! BruceSkis is a Turkish food truck. I had them while they were at Cynosure. I got the deluxe Turkish fries. They were very tasty. However, the portion was quite small and the price quite high for what it is. I'll try another menu item if I bump into them again.
Yum. Excellent falafel wrap. Perfectly arranged with accompaniments so nothing fell apart. Service was a little slow at the Girdwood forest fair... I probably waited 20 mins with 6 people.in front of me. Imma say with a menu of only 5 items, I would have expected only a 10-12 minute wait. Additionally it was a smidge more expensive than seemed reasonable, hence the loss of one star.
