What a lovely host! I can't imagine anyone feeling unwelcome here. I was simply looking for an affordable place to stay during my journey north to continue to William, and I stumbled upon this place with great reviews, so I decided to give it a try. The room was decently sized and very clean. Breakfast was pleasant, and they even asked if we wanted it ready for a quick start when we arrived. All the staff were incredibly friendly and genuinely seemed to care about their guests. Unlike many hotels I've visited, the prices for food and drinks here were exceptionally reasonable. I'll definitely consider this hotel again whenever I want to enjoy the finer side of this island experience. Thank you!
I visited The Distel several times in August, and it's a truly beautiful place. We had a party of 10, and the staff was amazing. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. It's such a charming and picturesque spot. A big thank you to the staff for their great service—we will definitely be back! Ratings: Service: 5/5, Location: 5/5.
I had a pleasant stay at the hotel. I would rate my room 4 out of 5, the service also 4 out of 5, and the location a solid 4 out of 5 as well. Overall, it was a positive experience.
A warm welcome awaits you in this wonderful environment. in the small town of crossmicheal, thistle offers a well-stocked bar and a series of tasty freshly boiled meals in the tired traveling or overnight with very comfortable and clean accommodation. the personal is friendly both with a professional approach and with ideal hostes. very cheap with a large breakfast to set it up for the day. the thistle inn is the ideal location to discover the beautiful environments of dumfries and galloway as well as other fields. summing up a great place to say great food and laugh at the bar. as arnie says: “I’m back”.
What an absolutely fantastic place this is. Nestled in a small village next to Loch Ken with the stunning Galloway Forest park only a stones throw away. The food is absolutely gorgeous.
