Overall, we had a pleasant experience kicking off our New England vacation. The rooms were decent, although they are starting to show some signs of wear. I have two main concerns: first, the temperature in the hotel, particularly at night, made it difficult for me to sleep. I suspect there may be a setting for the air conditioning that reduces its output during the early morning hours before sunrise. Secondly, the br... View all feedback.

My wife and I have gone to this intercontinental in Boston about 35 times in the last 10-12 years. And we always pay extra to have access to the Club Lounge. The extra cost was typically $75-100 dollars pre Covid. Now it 's $150/night. Which is still fine. But some little things have been removed. The weekend omelet station and newspapers. Also the small refrigerator stocked with Fiji water. And down in the lobby for years was a store with typical snacks and toiletries you may need. As well as lot 's of unique and boutique type clothing for men and women. And all the Boston sports team logo wear. Now no store. Overall we still love the hotel, the service and the location. But losing the little things changes the feeling of 4 stars.

We stayed for 2 nights here. The location is excellent to explore the historical sites of Boston. The tea party museum is a 5 min walk along the water (from the back entrance of the hotel) and Long Warf, Fanueil Hall, North End are just a few minutes longer walk. The rooms are comfortable and IHG diamond status was recognized. We chose the breakfast amenity and ordered off the a la cart menu. The food was great. It was pretty busy, so it took a few minutes to be seated both days. This seems to be a popular hotel for weddings. We were happy with our stay.

Excellent hotel. Close to the subway which we used daily. Walking distance to many restaurants and attractions. Very clean, very quiet. Only downside, and it was not a big deal, it is close to a fire station so we did hear fire trucks but it was not a distraction. Comfortable beds and pillows. Room was a nice size. Bathroom had separate tub and shower. Overall a great place to stay.

I had a short stay at the Intercontinental Boston at the end of a longer trip we are members of the Ambassadors Club, so the guaranteed room upgrade and late checkout felt ideal for the end of our trip with a late flight to catch. Unfortunately, the hotel fell quite some way short of the standard I have come to expect from Intercontinental properties. Hotel location is good, easy to walk to lots of sights and restaurants, and is close to the subway. You can park for a short time outside the front of the hotel if you need to unload a car and get checked in. Check in was slow and conducted by a member of staff who spoke poor English communication was difficult and he didn 't seem to understand what we were asking for when we confirmed we wanted the 4pm checkout that was supposed to be guaranteed. We eventually got it sorted but it wasn 't really the welcome and introduction to the hotel that I had hoped for. The porter who helped us with our bags was much friendlier and more helpful in explaining where things were in the hotel. The room itself was nice enough, although it wasn 't really clear what the upgrade we were supposedly getting actually got us the room looked exactly like the one on the website, so I assume the upgrade at this particular property is based on view rather than room category. There was plenty of space and the bed was comfortable, though there were a few oddities only one bathrobe for two people, hardly any hangers in the wardrobe, and the towels and bath mat were quite thin and worn out (the bath mat looked like a ratty old towel with holes in it). The minibar contains very little space for storing anything you want to keep cold and will charge automatically if you remove anything, so we were advised by the porter to inform reception if we needed extra space for refrigeration. There was also ice available down the hall. We had drinks in the bar where we received excellent service from the staff, including when we came back after dinner and found it very busy they remembered we had been in earlier in the evening and served us promptly. Unfortunately, the good service from the bar does not extend to breakfast. We had breakfast included in our room rate, but on arrival at the restaurant we were told by a very offhand hostess that it would be a 25 minute wait for a table not something I have ever experienced in hundreds of hotel stays around the world and clearly something that was confusing many guests. When we queried why the wait was so long when we could see around a dozen tables empty, she told us firstly that the tables were dirty (they weren 't, they were all set with napkins, glasses and cutlery) and when challenged further told us that to seat too many people at once would be bad service (though probably not as bad as refusing to seat them at all). Consequently there were a lot of people just hanging around near the entrance to the restaurant we were not prepared to do this and left. The member of staff I lodged a complaint with on reception was helpful she remove the cost of breakfast from our rate, and also granted us access to the 12th floor club so we could get something to eat. This was a really disappointing experience and very poor service from a supposed luxury hotel I suspect they were short staffed in the restaurant, but I would rather have been told that honestly than be fed obvious lies about dirty tables and treated like an inconvenience for expecting to get what we were paying for. On the day of checkout, despite having confirmed when we arrived that we would be staying until 4pm, we came back from lunch to find that our minibar had already been locked so we could no longer access the bottles of water we had left there. Housekeeping then also showed up while we were still in the room. These things may have just been a lack of communication, but they added to the overall feeling we already had that we were an inconvenience to the hotel and they would rather we weren 't there. Overall a disappointing experience and not what I expected.

Lovely hotel in Boston, located within walking distance of South Station right in Down Town. For a video review of our room, head over to You.Tube and search for 'Tim and Matt Travel for this and many more ' The room was spacious and clean with a view out the front of the property. The room and hotel as a whole was maintained well and cleanliness of a high standard. We did not eat in the hotel but there are a ton of places within walking distance to this hotel. Staff were always friendly and personable helping us with any questions we had as this was our first time in Boston.
