This Connecticut KFC is celebrated for perfectly cooked, flavorful chicken, a standout spicy sandwich, speedy service and warm, attentive staff who sometimes go above and beyond. Sides like fries, coleslaw, biscuits and cookies please many diners. However, reliability is uneven: incomplete or substituted orders, occasional out‑of‑stock items, soggy sides, an awkward drive‑thru and a reported food‑safety incident temper the praise. Expect great fried chicken when the kitchen’s on, but verify orders and freshness on pickup.
When I arrived, I immediately asked if the restaurant was still open. They took my order, suggested substitutions because some items were out of stock, and processed my payment. However, they then told me I had to leave since the lobby was closed. My very first question at the door was to confirm if they were open. I really didn’t want to have to eat cold, old chicken that wasn’t even what I actually ordered, sitting in my car in the parking lot.
After 8:00 PM, they were out of almost everything. The lady only offered me coleslaw.
The service was fast and outstanding. We ordered a bucket of chicken, three side dishes, and biscuits, and they even gave us a complimentary drink in a trendy bag with a spout!
The absolute best KFCs in the state of CT! Hands down! It’s as if Kernel Sanders Himself makes the chicken. They cook the chicken the way it’s supposed to be, not burnt, uncooked, or salty! The flavors really open your eyes to a world of possibilities. The drive through is weird, wouldn’t recommend going through it.
Told me I had to leave the lobby after selling me food. Didn't have enough food to complete my order, did so with substitutions and old crusty chix. Then told me the lobby was closed and I had to leave. Terrible. Just Terrible.
