Excellent anniversary meal. Lovely ambience though due to COVID restrictions probably quieter than usual. Food was fabulous. We had venison haunch which we really enjoyed though couldn’t eat it all. Luckily we were able to take leftovers home. Will definitely be back. View all feedback.
What AlexC doesn't like about Afternoon Tea at The Grove:
The main meal was good, the mussels starter was very good. However the dauphinois was completely cold (we did tell the waitress). The cooled breakfast wad very disappointing and tried too hard to be different! Bacon was charred (tasted burnt). The tomato was very difficult to eat and eggs were tiny and poached too long. Sausage was lovely though. Overall we have had much better and paid less. Nice setting but not alt... View all feedback.
Tries hard but food not quite there. Great menu, but just doesn’t quite deliver. Shame it won’t take much and it’s a fantastic venue. Paid extra for cheeseboard and all the cheeses were tasteless. Muscles in garlic sauce lovely and juicy but more tasted if they were just in cream. Just needs some tweaks.
Visited this evening, no draught beers, only bottles. Ordered 4 tapas dishes, £9 for sharing pork belly but only one piece given. Tasted nice but Seriously over priced. Also ordered hand cut chips, what arrived were clearly frozen chips. When we queried, waitress told us that potatoes hadn’t been delivered today. Interesting to read M Lutz of Norwich’s review from a month ago with the same issue. Sundown .. do you provide hand cut chips as advertised on your menu or frozen?? We will return and try again as we liked the tipi and staff were pleasant.
What a lovely atmosphere to sit and have a pleasant afternoon tea in tranquil settings. The host and service was second to none and nothing was an issue regarding where you would like to sit. My wife and I enjoyed a nice chilled glass of Prosecco with an abundance of finger sandwiches with a variety of savoury cheese straws, sausage rolls, cakes and scones. Not forgetting the cream and jam. This accompanied tea and coffee in a china cup that was replenished throughout our afternoon tea. We started chatting to other couples in the room which made it a really nice and relaxed experience. We will definitely go again and if your are in Cromer or near Cromer I would suggest a visit. You won’t regret it.
Very nice restaurant food tasty, staff friendly. Whit chocolate cheese cake lovely. Ribeye steak good.
Lovely concept , poorly and executed. Seriously over priced Tapas, poor quality, and many items mis advertised. Example. Chicken satay skewer. £9 for a sharing portion. Reality &1 skewer with 3 small pieces of chicken. Direct from the freezer Handcut chips£4. small portion frozen aunt Bessie home chips. It goes on. And the whole process of having to order everything via Qa codes. Not every get it . All items have to be paid in advance . Staff not particular friendly. And a dodgy DJ will th gold trainers not doing a lot . No change to music after he left so it begs the question, what's the point . The concept in a teepe tent is excellent, but everything else is lost in translation. I would suggest you avoid. Get some aunt Bessie chips and chicken skewers and eat at home and save a fortune .
