The Mermaid Shanty - CRISFIELD

We stumbled upon this hidden gem a year ago while camping at Jane's Island State Park. When we returned to camp again this summer, we knew we had to come back. We were thrilled to receive the same fantastic customer service and enjoy the delicious shaved ice and seafood snacks. They even remembered us from last year and gave our three kids complimentary t-shirts! This time, we tried the fried shrimp and oysters, mermaid fries, mermaid coolickles, and the soft-shell crab taco. Everything was wonderful, just like our first visit. The soft-shell crab taco was a new addition to the menu, and it ended up being our favorite dish!

The food at Crisfield is incredible! The portion sizes in relation to the price are perfect! On top of that, the staff is really friendly. I highly recommend everyone visit Crisfield and experience their food for themselves. You’ll definitely want to return—we know we will!

I discovered this little gem while camping at Janes Island. The service was friendly, the food was delicious, and they even had snow cones! Our kids absolutely loved the fried shrimp and crab balls.

We were camping at Jane's Island State Park and decided to also check our the nearby town of Crisfield. We happened upon The Mermaid Shanty for shaved ice for the kids and were pleased to find that in addition to shaved ice they also serve seafood! We tried all the seafood items: crab cake, crab balls, fried shrimp and fried oysters. All were delicious! There were so many flavors of shaved ice to choose from and it was a perfect treat on a hot summer day! We sat outside on the covered wooden picnic tables.

The egg custard Snowball that I had today was really good!
