eating was excellent! we stumbled this jewel by chance. it was quieter place in a very lively and loud casino city, so we have the opportunity to eat bar and learn about the hotel history of brand, the bartender. we're coming back! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Midland Depot At The Imperial:
Service really slow, took over 1 1/2 hours to serve 4 people. Also was my daughter's birthday and had stated on Open Table, it took so long to get the meal we didn't even bother asking for desert, nor did the waitress even ask. The place is super cute, but I would not go back View all feedback.
Where do I even begin!!! Everything was delicious, we started with the caprese salad. The buffalo mozzarella, tomatoes, basil, and balsamic glaze was delightful. The cheese bread is a must!!!! For our entrees I had spaghetti and meat sauce, the meat sauce was full of flavor. My Husband had the pasta primavera, the only complaint was his sauce was really runny, but still full of flavor. The spumoni was awesome. This place was a real treat!!!
We were in Cripple Creek for the weekend with a group of friends and planned on going to the music show at the Imperial Hotel. We wanted to have a bite to eat before the show, so we made reservations at the Midland Depot since the show was right there. The Midland features Italian food and believe it or not it was really, really good! All of use raved about the dishes we has selected! Highly recommend the Midland for at least one meal when at The Creek.
Picked this place because it was one of the few places I've seen on OpenTable to receive 5 stars across the board. My expectations were high. We were seated promptly, but it was quickly evident that our waiter did not have experience waiting tables. Turns out he was filling in for someone who called out. I ordered a 2007 Merlot and was surprised when they brought it out already open and placed it on the table with three glasses and left. It was also evident that nobody there knew the proper way to serve a bottle of wine. It was a really good Merlot though and the entrees were very good as well. I was surprised that they did not have house made Italian dressing. I was told that the reason they didn't was because the owner didn't like dealing with oil based dressings. That seemed odd for an Italian restaurant. The chicken parmigiana was good as was the shrimp scampi and fettuccine Alfredo. If you're in Cripple Creek, you could do worse but I wouldn't recommend the drive from out of town just to eat there.
The setting was wonderful. The restaurant was so neat and charming. The food was delicious and was very generous portions. I would most definitely go back it was awesome.
Food and service are outstanding and is one of our favorite restaurants.
