We stopped by this restaurant on a whim after church and were so impressed that we returned the following Sunday. The fried fish, fried okra, and mac and cheese were all fantastic and ready to order, served to us by the wonderfully friendly staff. I had to compliment the chef because everything was cooked to perfection! View all feedback.
What Vernon Casper doesn't like about Captain D's:
I pulled into the drive through at 10:23 and was talked to until 10:33 while sitting at the drive through window staring at the worker make multiple gallons of sweet tea. She informed me they were not open yet and it would be a few more minutes although it was already past 10:30. I paid and have been waiting for my food for over 30 minutes. Since April 2022, the Crestview Captain D 's service has taken a nose dive. We tend to eat dinner there once a week between 4:30 and 5:30 pm and they are always out of baked potato, butter, broccoli, etc. It is rare we can get these items. The portions of the two sides are so small it 's about 2 bites of each of them. The hush puppies are hard as a rock. And honestly, we have been eating our meal during these time slots and had them tell incoming customers, Sorry we are closed. That means completely closed and on several occasions a month they close the lobby and you have to use drive thru only. The employees speak openly to and in front of their customers, about staff not showing up to work. Very poorly managed. This used to be a great place, actually one of our favorites. I have to give it a 2/2.5 because of how much it has declined. We expect to see the windows boarded up before long. So sad.
Captains D's has been around a long time . I thought I'd give it one more chance. The one in Crestview used to be really good. This one needs to close if they cook the food to taste good. My fish was like rubber and the shrimp was cooked to death. They had music blasting and couldn't even relax while you ate.

After receiving an incorrect online order. I was told by manager on duty to come to store and missing food items will be replaced free of charge. When I attempted to do so different manager says it was inadequate information given and refused to honor that
The food is good, but bad attitudes and usually bad service.
