The burger was truly exceptional, made entirely from scratch. They hand-crafted everything, including the patty, which was fresh and thin. It was cooked perfectly to order, with a nice sear on the outside and juicy on the inside. View all feedback.

Stopped in for just desert. Several options were offered strawberry shortcake, lava cake, cheesecake, milkshakes. They had a demo displayed of the strawberry shortcake. It looked very tasty so I ordered it. My husband ordered the cheesecake. The waiter came back to say that they were out of cheesecake. Bummer. He ordered the lava cake instead. That was by far the best eating in our vacation! there was a great suppe and salatable. the bier selection was excellent; there were many local animals. the fish and chips were good, but the 4 cheese mac cheese and the shrimp grits were excellent! the portion sizes were large, no one in our party finished all their food. the only underpass was not able to take the left handover with us home. they would have made an excellent lunch if we had access to a frite and a microwave.
Discovered a wonderful restaurant on my way back into California today. Quiet and understated, casual but slightly elegant. Nice but respectful staff. Excellent craft beer, and wonderfully delicious food! Since I 'd had a late lunch, I didn 't want a big heavy meal in the evening. Under salads on the menu was listed beef tenderloin and shrimp on arugula. That sounded like just the ticket. And it so was! Little mounds of micro greens dressed with a slightly sweet vinaigrette, a trail of thinly sliced medium rare beef tenderloin interspersed with tender fresh tasting shrimp. Along with it, I enjoyed a wonderful craft beer. Can 't recall the name sadly, but it was something of a brown ale with citrus notes. If you find yourself in Crescent City, CA for any reason, please make a point of stopping at Northwoods for a wonderful meal. Not only is the restaurant itself terrific, but it also provides a lovely view of the harbor and ocean across the street. Can 't miss with this one!

It looked very tasty so I ordered it. My husband ordered the cheesecake. The waiter came back to say that they were out of cheesecake. Bummer. He ordered the lava cake instead. Both deserts looked amazing. My husband said his lava cake was good but very sweet. It came with vanilla bean ice cream which I ended up eating because the strawberry shortcake was bland. The whip cream wasn't sweet, just tasted like milk and the strawberry layering was just unsweetened strawberry pie filling. It was sour instead of sweet. On the upside, I drank the best glass of water here. No lie.
Staff is clearly trying their best, not sure what it is but it’s just an odd experience. Bar below is the wait area but it doesn’t clearly say that. They will radio the bar to tell you when your ready upstairs for dining. We were told a 45 minute wait but then after 25 minutes we got a table in a 1/4 full dining area. May have been short staffed, idk. Food and beer was decent. Coke was watered down. I got the calamari sandwich and it was very rubbery. Staff was extremely courteous and attentive though.
Place was clean and the server nice. We both ordered the ribeye. Steak had good flavor but was over cooked. Sides were roasted potatoes and green beans. They were awful. Potatoes were old (we were there as they opened) Tasted like overcooked, refrigerated and slightly reheated. 100% yesterday's. Green beans were from frozen, tough and tasteless. Salad bar fresh and lean. So was 50/50. Will not visit again.
