The food here is great, plenty of beverage choice, and the service is good. This could easily get a 5 star review if the radiators were on and the fires lit, as it was cold and wet outside and we wanted to come in and dry off with some hot food. This pub lacks the atmosphere that it's neighbour supplies. However it's a dog friendly pub and the service is again good so if you can't get in at the other pub then this pl... View all feedback.
What Daniel Marshall doesn't like about The Buck Inn:

Excellent eating. excellent price. Started with the site that was served with a side salad. a natalate is usually a thoughtful on the plate, but this inc sweet sun dried tomato, early onions, various salat leaves and a beautiful dressing . the delicate bark. excellent, gravely beautiful, thick and definitiw not from a package. correct chips and veg. we also had a bun and pancetta cake, which, in my opinion, is more soned, but definitiw not worthy to fall a star for this. all hot and complete filling. highly recommended
We had a lovely breakfast in the dining/bar area, which had good service and a nice selection of food. The decor was nice, but personally, I would have liked to see the open fire lit during breakfast. I would definitely recommend this place as it is a great price and has lots of free parking available. I can't comment on the food other than breakfast since we didn't eat there.

Stayed for 2 nights ideally placed for the dales, very picturesque the rooms were very nice but there was no central heating, they had a small oil heater which was pretty feeble, suggest you bring your own fan heater, otherwise good for the money. Parking: Private Free parking at the side of the pub. Food: 4 Service: 5
