We absolutely loved our 2 nights at The New Inn in the gorgeous tiny Yorkshire village of Appletreewick. The Yorkshire Dales are stunning and we had perfect views of the countryside from room #2. Our room had been recently renovated and was very comfortable with a great bathroom. Sarah and Graham are great hosts and made us feel very welcome at their lovely old pub. What jameslH4849ZQ doesn't like about New Inn:
Not offering beer in smaller glasses in a small village where many people drive is a bad business decision. The lack of customers compared to the pub just a short distance away is proof of this. The owner's rude attitude also contributes to the problem. While the fact that they only serve beer from wooden casks is a unique selling point, I won't be returning to try it again. The owners are genuinely passionate about what they serve, offering the best pint for miles. Their care and dedication shine through in every aspect of the dining experience. It's clear that they are serving up the real deal.
I went to the bar to order drinks and food with my husband. He wanted a pint and I wanted a half pint, but the proprietor informed me that they no longer sold half pints. After ordering a pint, I also ordered a toasted sandwich for £9.95. My husband wanted just chips, but the proprietor insisted that the sandwich came with chips and we couldn't order them separately. I ended up ordering the sandwich with chips. I ate the sandwich and some of the soggy chips, then went to pay. To my surprise, the proprietor said I hadn't given him enough money because the chips were an additional cost. I ended up paying £14.95 for a toasted sandwich and a small portion of soggy chips. It felt like a rip-off!

We have never been to Appletreewick before but we really enjoyed our one night stay there at the New Inn, we had a warm and friendly welcome from both Sarah and Graham, we had forgotten to order our food before we arrived but Graham bent over backwards for us and fitted us in and served up some great food and the beer is great. When we checked out my wife asked about the toiletries they used in the bathrooms and Sarah was really helpful, they are all natural products which we liked, and even recommended a natural toothpaste. We would recommend the New Inn and we will definitely be returning.
Great location, Sarah couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating. Room was well equipped and finished and the full English breakfast was to die for!
