Catfish Corral - Crandall
Catfish Corral
Description
Catfish Corral, a small family-run establishment, has garnered mixed reactions since its relocation. While some customers celebrate its cozy ambiance and friendly service, others express disappointment regarding the quality of food, citing issues like undercooked fish and frozen ingredients. Many diners praise the freshness and flavor of dishes like the fried catfish and hush puppies, while some feel the menu is overpriced for what is offered. Despite the inconsistent experiences, a loyal following remains eager to support this local gem, with patrons hopeful for improvements as the restaurant settles into its new location.

Food was good, the hushpuppies were in point... this coming from someone who doesn't eat hushpuppies.
I ordered my food from Grubhub and it arrived and I could tell it was made with love. The Fish and Shrimp was amazing and that tartare sauce was very good.
This is a small family run business, I have no problem suggesting anyone local give it a try. On the whole though, I'd have to say it's ok. Fries, fish, hush puppies, all just...ok. Nothing was particularly bad but there was nothing to rave about either. Also, as a note to the staff, it doesn't help perception of a restaurant when you walk in and find yourself sticking to the floor like a late night at a movie theater (we were there middle of the afternoon). So should you go? You can, I wouldn't stop you. Would I eat there again? I might, I probably wouldn't go out of my way for it but maybe.
My 1st time to eat here. I was not impressed. fish portions were small and overcooked. hush puppies were like sweet overcooked balls of grease. seriously after biting into them there was a gooey grease line a quarter inch deep all around the inside! the fries were OK, the coleslaw average. definitely not worth the $25.00 price tag for two people.
