Went here for lunch one day and were pleasantly surprised ! What a enjoyable meal. Soup, salad, beans, chips, pico, and tortillas all included with our main course. I don 't remenber what it was called but originally I ordered 2 for my wife and I....The waiter shook his head no and said grande !! Boy, I 'm glad he told us. Huge and loaded with chicken, beef, pork, onions and peppers. I will definitely return ! View all feedback.
What Ruth Scheepers doesn't like about Las Palmas Cocina Economica:
This place is right across the street from the ferry port, so you have a good view of the water. The food was okay and the prices were fine. Cons were the tables are smashed together so you barely have room to sit let alone if you have your bags to get on (or just disembarking from) the ferry, pigeons that walk back and forth under your tables looking for crumbs or scraps, the strolling musicians pressuring you to ha... This is a family restaurant serving fresh, tasty dishes. We have eaten here many times over the years. We eat here several times every trip. Some of our favourites are the baked fish, coconut scrims, baked shrimps and any speciality of the day. (beans... with pork, yum). It's not the Las Palmeiras restaurant. This is a place on the 25th. There are no water views, but you will not be harassed. Cocina Economica de las Palmas (full name) is a favorite of locals and visitors alike. Both are treated very well and welcomed.
Had a lunch there and it was GREAT. Fried pork lace, boneless, in chip beetle spices. Small soup, delicious jamica drink. Totillas and a small amount of salad for like 5 dollars. Just DELISH! Find this for a great lunch.
Great spot for local food and local pricing. Crowded at lunch time. Good portions. Very nice staff. Away from the touristy spots.
If you want to experience a real Mexican restaurant try Las Palmas. The food is authentic and very good. Staff are welcoming and some English is spoken. You will not leave hungry, our experience began with a bowl of noodle soup, a small plate of...beans, and the water of the day. Our main entree came with a cabbage salad, rice and the protein ordered. Four of us ate for the equivalent of $18 US. Don,t be afraid to get off the beaten path, Cozumel offers some amazing food.
