My experience here was really good!!. The service was brisk, friendly and professional. Even though it was busy the staff were smiling and that in itself added to the experience. The coffee was the right temperature and strength for me. The food was ample and very tasty. The decor and ambience was warm and welcoming. All good!! Will return when the opportunity arises again. What User doesn't like about The Waterboy Cafe:
I really want to love this cafe because i think a lot of effort has gone into the design and the atmosphere, but it has a really bad vibe. I haven't actually eaten breakfast or lunch here so i cant comment on the food, but have had take away coffees a number of times. It seems like they only hire staff under the age of 15, but speak to them like they are meant to have a lot of experience (which they obviously don't h... View all feedback.
When my friend and I arrived at the café, it was very crowded, which is always a positive sign. We began with some well-made coffees, with my cappuccino being particularly enjoyable. I ordered the eggs benedict for brunch, and it was cooked perfectly, with my eggs poached just right. Overall, it was a fantastic café that I would gladly recommend.
I would rather keep this place to myself... What a unique addition to the cafe scene in Cowes! Unfortunately, we only had coffee this time, but I can't wait to come back for brunch! The chai latte I had was probably the best I've ever tasted! My coffee-loving friends enjoyed their iced coffee, latte, and regular coffee as well. We couldn't resist sharing a slice of cake, and even my friend with celiac disease had options. Just be prepared for lines - they're a sign of how popular this place is!

At the site of the old toy shop, the building had undergone a complete makeover. Three debit is inviting and the menu broad and interesting. Coffee is good and the food great. A good selection of home made cakes too. Make sure you visit Waterboy in Cowes.
Though some of the previous reviewers' comments raised my eyebrows, I of course can only share my experiences at The WB. I've been in three times now for takeaway coffees, and have eaten in with a friend once. All coffee visits were quick, friendly and having the owner take the time to have a chat made made me feel very comfortable. Each coffee was a great strength and temperature. For our lunch visit, we sat at the back bar, which has views directly through to the water. When it's a cold day out, and then the sun shines on you, it's glorious. Swivelling around and watching the team do their thing was also a bonus. They have a great space, and an even better vibe :) Food-wise, we had the smoked salmon and the smashed avocado. Both were very generous portions, but more importantly, both very tasty. My friend's Chai was also perfectly executed - being both a chef and a St Kilda girl, that's high praise! Everyone of course will never be happy, but The Waterboy Cafe is a blessing to PI - and raises the bar. Massive thanks to Jacquie and her team - you are all doing an amazing job :)
