Was Anonym at Yipin Bashu a mag?
the first time she came here and was surprised how good the dishes are. this place is specialized in Szechuan dishes (which means very spicy) and everything we ordered is tasty. we would definitely go back there and try other elements on the menu. View all feedback.

What Charlie890123 dislikes about Yipin Bashu:
My most recent visit to this restaurant was disappointing. The beef dish I ordered was bland and tasteless, and I had to push myself to finish it. It cost £11.80, but I don't think I'll be coming back. View all feedback.

This is another one of my favorite spots to dine. The food is consistently excellent, without any exceptions. It can get quite busy during dinner hours and the service may be slow at times, but overall the dining experience is fantastic.

This Sichuan restaurant is quite good, with spice levels that are tolerable for most people, although not as fiery as authentic Sichuan cuisine. By the way, I would not suggest ordering Cantonese dishes like spring rolls or chow mein at a Sichuan restaurant - it's like ordering beef Wellington at an Italian restaurant.

This restaurant is a disaster. Despite having a reservation, our table was not saved when we arrived on time. We were told we would have to wait at least 40 minutes because the restaurant was full. Surprisingly, another group had the same problem. The manager's attitude was terrible—no apologies, just ignoring us. The whole experience was a chaotic disaster. Avoid this place if you value your time and expect basic courtesy.

Spring rolls could have been softer they weren’t very full and way too crispy and over cooked. The noodles were average and the meat portions weren’t great, a lot of bones in my meal! Beef pho was the best part. Was not a glamorous meal I had heard about from others

Very good service compared to other Chinese places. Food is up to standard.

Tucked away in a bustling locale, this Sichuan restaurant elicits a mixed bag of experiences from diners. While many praise its authentic, customizable cuisine and friendly staff, others recount frustrations like long waits, unseasoned dishes, and a confusing cash-only policy that uses unfavorable exchange rates. Though some customers find the spice levels approachable, others suggest avoiding Cantonese options altogether. Despite the occasional service hiccup and the need for better menu translations, the generally favorable reviews recognize this establishment as a haven for genuine Sichuan flavors, making it a potential gem for the adventurous diner.

This Chinese restaurant is authentic. If you don't speak Chinese, the menu may be difficult to understand, so I suggest asking the very helpful staff for assistance!

As a chinese, this is some very authentic Sichuan food and what a gem in Coventry. Fast serve and great service, plus there is no service charge! Menu price is by no means expensive (i live in London . If you are Chinese or local looking for some real Chinese food, this is a place worth visiting. If you just want some Chinese food catered to local style, you probably will not be overwhelmed. Anyway for me, I'm definitely coming back to Coventry for this again :

The Chinese food at this restaurant is very authentic. Most of the dishes have a spicy twist that is highly appetizing.

The food at this restaurant is great, as they allow customers to customize the seasoning to their liking. The only downside is that they accept cash payments only.

While searching for a place to have Sunday lunch, we stumbled upon this restaurant and were immediately drawn in by the sight of the delicious food being served. We were assisted in choosing our dishes and were not disappointed. The meal was the most authentic Chinese cuisine we've had in years. The fish, bean sprout, and chili soup was very tasty, the chicken with spicy chili was flavorful, the sizzling tofu in oyster sauce was amazing, and the Chinese greens in garlic with steamed rice were delicious. We are not from Coventry, but we will definitely be returning to this restaurant the next time we visit.

My experience at this restaurant was absolutely terrible. We ordered 4 dishes, and 3 of them arrived promptly, but we waited half an hour for the last big fish dish and it never came. After asking the waiter to check on our order, we waited another 20 minutes with no sign of the dish. When I asked the waiter again, he informed me that the chef had not received our order, and we would have to wait for it to be cooked or cancel it. I was shocked at this response, as it seemed like a simple mistake that could have been avoided if the waiter had checked on our order earlier. Ultimately, I decided to cancel the dish as I was frustrated with the wait. When I went to the cashier, she spoke to me in Chinese and told me she had cancelled the dish so we wouldn't have to pay for it. However, I was puzzled as to why she would expect us to pay for a dish that never made it to our table in the first place. Despite not having any signs indicating payment methods, the cashier asked for either cash or Wechat pay. Since I didn't have Chinese RMB to use Wechat pay, I opted to pay in cash. It would have been helpful for the restaurant to have clear signage indicating payment options to avoid confusion for customers.

Simply wow the interior decor is modest, the food is not! Having previously visited the BarShu restaurant in London 's Soho to get the amazing spicy Szechuan style food many times it 's a complete delight to find it locally in Coventry without the London prices. If you are not familiar with this type of cuisine then there are no parallels with 'English Chinese food ', different dishes and the most amazing flavours. The menu here is in both English and Chinese with pictures the staff are so helpful and attentive I simply can 't recommend this restaurant highly enough truly special
