I made sure all details were... read more I’ve ordered three bespoke cakes from Roxxbakes, and unfortunately, each one had issues. The first was a dinosaur cake for my son. I made sure all details were correct, including the spelling of his name, but when I asked for a picture before pickup, the cake had ‘Loius’ instead of his name. Roxxbakes apologized and fixed the mistake without any fuss. The second cake was supposed to be a heart-shaped cake with a cherry design. While it looked lovely, the cherries—a key part of the design—were missing, which was disappointing since that was why we chose Roxxbakes. Despite clearly communicating our requirements, they fell short, but I let it slide. The biggest disappointment was the third cake. I triple-checked all the details and confirmed everything to avoid problems. However, on the morning of pickup, I found out they had scheduled our cake for delivery a month later. To their credit, they offered to make and deliver the cake that day. They brought a blue Stitch cake that looked like what we’d ordered but was missing the 3D bubble gum detail—it was a flat printed design instead. Even worse, when we cut into it, it was vanilla rather than the chocolate flavor we had requested. It’s frustrating to pay for a custom cake and not receive what you asked for. I paid £60 for a vanilla cake my son wouldn’t even eat because it’s not his favorite flavor. My messages were read but ignored at first; I received a response the next day and was later given a partial refund, but they kept my deposit. So, I ended up paying £30 for the wrong cake, and since Roxxbakes wouldn’t take responsibility, it went to waste. The vanilla buttercream was dry and definitely not chocolate. I hope Roxxbakes improves their service and truly delivers on bespoke orders in the future. I paid custom prices but didn’t get the quality or customization expected. There’s too much uncertainty for me to order from them again. Given the circumstances and my fairness throughout, I believe a full refund would have been appropriate.
