Friendly welcome from the bar staff/owners? we were told the kitchen would be re opening in 15 minutes or so. clean table, pub atmosphere. we ordered a gammon s... read more Friendly welcome from the bar staff/owners? we were told the kitchen would be re opening in 15 minutes or so. clean table, pub atmosphere. we ordered a gammon steak and fish and chips. when the meals arrived, I had a mouthful of the fish and it tasted nice, batter was over cooked which was a shame. when I tried to cut into the fish most of it was vitually raw, I would guess the temperature of the fryer was too high, burnt batter raw fish. when serving a steak its best to provide a steak knife as none were supplied it was very difficult to cut the gammon steak which was thick. Portion size was large, but when the food is not cooked correctly its all disappointing.

A few mi... read more What a delight to walk into a pub, close to home to be served up with a Sunday lunch to match anything anywhere else. Cooked prepared by folk who care. A few minutes to wait as It is cooked to order, but time to enjoy a Timothy Taylor. Then, when the dish arrives, with gravy boat and sauce bucket, my eyes still trying absorb the display of beautiful food, we tuck in. Thank you to the Parkgate team.

Covi... read more Been my local for years now. Huge selection of gins and beers. New kitchen owner with an fantastic menu at great prices. Really lovely family friendly pub. Covid secure. Back garden was done up through lockdown and it's amazing. Sheltered with heaters and really spacious. Loads of seating our front, indoors and out the back. Perfect pub. Roast dinners are amazing!

I attended a charity event, like others thought it was inside, so it was a bit disappointing that we were outside in the open sheds with a holey roof and floor... read more I attended a charity event, like others thought it was inside, so it was a bit disappointing that we were outside in the open sheds with a holey roof and floor with puddles. I did venture inside to use the toilet and noticed that the pub itself was large inside with plenty of seats, a good-sized bar, and also looked to be a pool table. The staff that I saw seemed very friendly.
